A miscarriage of a movie, ill-conceived, mishandled, and hurried; what is it about? It's not exactly a feminist tract, psychological horror, or a case study of abnormal human behavior. It's just heavy and overly serious in a dumb, self-tormenting way. Also, the way this woman becomes isolated is unconvincing, having nothing to do with her infertility but her odd behavior so why does the movie pretend otherwise at the end? Indie movie with every indie drawback. Expand

Excellent portrayal of a grieving mother. And the impact on the marriage as well. The father is grieving in his own way, but his wife has a tough time seeing his grief. My only quibble is that I would not have had all three of her female best friends abandon her, at least one should have stuck by her.

In the end it all comes down to Mitchell. She turns in a truly harrowing performance that will leave you shaking.
  2. The carefully crafted Everything Put Together is unpredictably venturesome, and cinematographer Roberto Schaefer makes virtuoso use of digital video to create the images and movements that play so large a part in the film's success.

Instead of a credible main character this 1999 button pusher has lots of showy cinematography and generic dread.
