  1. To the fan of ’80s slashers, this return to glorious excess is a beautiful thing.
  2. 63
A surprisingly ambitious entry into a genre that felt bankrupt and over more than a decade ago.
  3. Considering what the filmmakers had to work with, and the fact that it has all been done before, Freddy Vs. Jason isn't bad. And sometimes not bad is almost good.
  4. Doesn't have any of the creepy suspense that graced the first "Friday" movies, and very little of the Daliesque dream imagery of the early "Nightmares." It's just a slam-bang succession of gross-out mutilations, played for giggles.
  5. 38
Despite oblique references to "Psycho" and "Children of the Corn," Freddy vs. Jason lacks the knowing wit needed to keep it afloat in an age when even the horror spoofs have been spoofed.
  6. The first "Nightmare on Elm Street" was wickedly surreal, but the wacky dream sequences were offset by the sitcomlike, almost satirical flatness of ordinary suburban life; that was the really scary part. Freddy Vs. Jason is innocent of such nuances.
  7. 20
About as threadbare as a favorite childhood plushy. What's more, trying to keep the story line of strained meta-sequel Freddy Vs. Jason straight requires too much of a cogitative investment.

Love this movie. More action than horror and I'm pretty sure it was never meant to be scary, just an awesome movie where horror icons battle it out. VERY ENTERTAINING. Expand

Considering I was a huge fan of both horror franchises, I was over the moon when they finally announced this. What did I think of it? Not bad. It could have been better and there was allot of minor points that I found really stupid, but on the whole I still thought it was highly entertaining.

    Overall:
Freddy vs. Jason is far from perfect, but then again, none of the Halloween or Nightmare on Elm Street movie were perfect either. This movie more or less copies the tone and style of both franchises to be something of its own. So in essence, this movie is exactly what it was meant to be.

While overall this movie is average at best/worst there are just so many things about it that bug me. The characters (besides Freddy and Jason of course) are boring and aren't good actors, the plot while interesting just fails in execution and it really seems like the makers favored Jason, because the fights between the two are so onesided. Seriously even though they build up Freddy as being so evil they have to hide his existance in the fights they act as if Freddy is just a little **** as Jason beats him every time, even in the dream world he still manges to kick the crap out of him. Plus Freddy only kills ONE person the entire movie. Yeah Fail. I will however say that the best reason to watch this movie is for Robert Englund as you can tell he's having a blast in his final role as Freddy. Expand

What was worth to see this movie was could see your imagination being adapted. Yes, see your greatest villains united, or if rivalry is certainly something orgasmic. But unfortunately, it is anticipated that these ideas on film do not have the same splendor. And here we see clearly that the idea was not good, or was not well publicized. You should be very careful when putting together â Expand

Pretty terrible. There was so much hype for this film and in the end it just crashed and burned. The acting was poor, The action was lame, and all the fights between Freddy and Jason werent that long and were actually pretty boring. Expand
