  • Starring: Greg Kinnear, Ricky Gervais
  • Summary: Bertram Pincus is a man whose skills leave much to be desired. When Pincus dies unexpectedly, but miraculously revived after seven minutes, he wakes up to discover that he now has the annoying ability to see ghosts. Even worse, they all want something from him, particutarly Frank Herlihy who pesters him into breaking up the impending marriage of his widow Gwen. That puts Pincus squarely in the middle of a triangle with spirited results. (Paramount Pictures/Dreamworks Pictures) Expand

  1. Both very funny and a bit of a tearjerker, with an on-the-money performance from Ricky Gervais.

Ghost Town is a rarity, a contemporary romantic comedy that honors the traditions of the genre without checking them off some plasticized list. The picture is breathing, and alive, every minute.
  3. Leoni and Kinnear are charming, and Koepp keeps the mood appropriately light. But really, this would be just another disposable comedy if it weren't for our unassuming star.
  4. Eventually, though, Ghost Town buckles beneath the weight of contrivance -- so many ghosts to dispel, so many lessons to learn.

A great all around movie. Very funny, but also humor with a big heart and Gervais, once again, excels at being a bit harsh and making you like him at the same time. Tea Leoni and Greg Kinear do their roles great justice. A genuinely funny and touching film. As ironic as it may seem, those who think the film is unfunny are probably a bit too misanthropic to let their guards down to enjoy this it. Collapse
  2. One of the greatest comedies I've seen. Gervais put on a good performance and it's one of the very few comedies that actually has a big heart. Brilliant. Expand

A kickass movie for everyone with a good taste of humor. The only thing i could say, is dread hospital visits. The much lighter, funier version of the sixth sense, without the fear. Expand
  4. Man has colonic operation, can see dead people afterwards with "hilarious" consequences.
Pretty average comedy with one or two laughs here & t
    here.
I'm a big Ricky Gervais fan but I thought he was mis-cast here & it felt a bit uncomfortable & clumsy at times.
Ghost is a lot better &, to be honest, funnier I'd say.
