  • Summary: A train pulls into the station - it's the end of the line. A Hobo jumps from a freight car, hoping for a fresh start in a new city. Instead, he finds himself trapped in an urban hell. This is a world where criminals rule the streets and Drake, the city's crime boss, reigns supreme alongside his sadistic murderous sons, Slick & Ivan. Amidst the chaos, the Hobo comes across a pawn shop window displaying a second hand lawn mower. He dreams of making the city a beautiful place and starting a new life for himself. But as the brutality continues to rage around him, he notices a shotgun hanging above the lawn mower... Quickly, he realizes the only way to make a difference in this town is with that gun in his hand and two shells in its chamber. (Magnet Releasing) Expand

Loaded to the gills with thrill-inducing mayhem, Hobo with a Shotgun feels almost tribal in its commitment to violence.

One must grudgingly admire director Jason Eisener's willingness to go over the top and beyond, and the film certainly delivers what it promises.

It's a hyper-violent, self-conscious throwback, with the sickly plastic aroma of a tape that's been gathering dust in the corner of a video store since 1984.

Two monologues-one in which the Hobo compares himself to a bear, the other a Travis Bickle–like screed delivered to a roomful of increasingly distressed babies-are damn near Shakespearean. It's a shame the performance is contained in a Z-movie patchwork that's a bit too knowingly repugnant.

Pick a reason to balk at this spot-on, garishly threadbare paean to '80s no-budget sleaze.

Quite the most appalling piece of junk I have seen lately, Hobo With a Shotgun just lies there like an autopsy.

This movie is sick, it is gross and I loved it. If you expected something different, I understand you might not like this movie at all. But if you like grindhouse movies, you can not miss this one. Expand

This is the goriest movie I have ever seen the special effects guy must have worked some late nights. Rutger Hauer is great in the roll of Hobo a guy who is tired of all the filth in his new town and decides to do some cleaning up... with a shotgun. A damn good movie but dont go see it if you are scared of blood. Expand

Personally I thought ''Hobo with a Shotgun'' was brilliant. It delivers something better than most other films but on a low budget.Very exciting and you just want to watch more, in the high paced , highly violent action/Dark Comedy .Have recommended to friends. Expand

The title is 'Hobo with a Shotgun'. That says all you need to know, really?
Obnoxious, loud, over-the-top gore where stubbing your toe will
result in a blood fountain that would rival those in los vegas.
You know its stupid. And unlike the hordes of action movies out there, it knows its stupid. and its cool with that. good on ya, mate.

Really crazy movie with ton of blood and action. This is the best grindhouse movie i seen yet. Another great Grindhouse movie. This movie is so crazy the most craziest grindhouse movie i didn't think that grindhouse could get any crazier until i seen this movie. Great actors and actress and directing. The storyline was on point it wasn't the best story line but it was great. A simple story line turn into very great movie. I love all the blood and killing in this movie. If you could just ignore the hilarious title of the movie and take a chance to watch it you might actually like it, i did. It is bloody from beginning to end. This movie also had a couple sad scene. SOme scene in this movie might make you cry. A action movie with a lot of heart. Expand

Over the top gore similar to films like Grindhouse and Machete but this movie is my favorite of the group. It's stupid but a good kind of stupid. Very entertaining imo. Rutger Hauer is amazing as the title character (the hobo). Would definently recommend it. Expand

This once existed only as a trailer to Grindhouse but one day some one decided to go on ahead and make the film. I mean, it has a catchy title, in a Snakes on a plane sort of way. And the idea of a sort of comedy action film with Rutger Hauer as a hobo with a shotgun sounded like it might be vaguely entertaining.

The plot is this: hobo shows up in an ultra violent town. Ultra violent things occur. Blood. Gore. Death.
