One of the cast members from "Friends" stars in an art film. By far, the worst movie I have ever seen. I assume Malkovich lost some sort of wager to Figgis, nothing else explains why he would take this part.

Loosen up people. A bit capricious and the slightest bit obtuse, but it's nice to see someone with the courage to take some risks and try something new. A film need not reinvent cinema or perform a masterstroke to be worth watching or to sooth a brain that's worn thin by Hollywood's near-constant flow of uninspired trash based on much-hackneyed premises and painfully simple Loosen up people. If this film is a personal milestone for the director on the path to finding their own voice, then I am honored to have been witness to the unfoldment of even a fragment of their dreams in cinema-graphic form. To be sure, the film contains many great ideas and some fresh editing approaches at the very least. Well done and I wish this director the very best! Expand

Ifans is fantastic as Trent Stoken, he is a very confident actor, however hayek could do with some acting lessons from the master!

  1. Hotel might be best described as the art-house version of "Cannonball Run."
  2. 70
Surprisingly enjoyable, even if you'd hesitate to call it a complete success. Indeed, Figgis expects you to sit back and roll with the pleasurable moments.
  3. 80
Though finally overwhelmed by a preening lassitude, Hotel is never less than fascinating.
