Could everyone stop talking about trainspotting! I think such a ploy detracts from criticizing what is essentially a bad bad movie, one with its head firmly up its own arse. To be a bit more controversial, this film is a silly movie with a silly message, aimed directly at the market of pill popping 'hipsters' the characters attempt to emulate, (and do quite well in some ways.) It all feels like slimy propaganda, an attempt to justify the nightmarish existence of working a soul sucking 9-5 job by escaping into drug induced euphoria at the weekend. THEY think they have found that excuse in a film that, to be fair, does manufacture a fair bit of vibrancy in its production values, its writing and its acting (John Simms, you rock!). THEY secretly close their eyes and hope they have found the holy grail of excuses in this film. Unfortunately, they haven't. Its all quite shallow and empty actually, just like the lifestyle is espouses. Yes. quite controversial. Expand

Is there some way to measure the voices of the critic against sales over time to see whether they got it right or not? To say that human traffic dialogue is not memorable for isntance when it is quoted in every nightclub every night all around the world X number of years after release surely indicates critic error?

This must be one of the most underrated films I've seen on Metacritic. The reviewers must have been judging it against Trainspotting alone. Firstly, Trainspotting is about junkies and the mess that H and drugs will get you in, whereas Human Traffic is about the average weekend of a British pill popping punter. Secondly, Trainspotting is depressing where Human Traffic is uplifting (one of the best films to watch on a comedown). So check it out and forget the preconceptions! Expand

The music used is by far what makes the movie.

I thought the movie was an awsome interpretation of the drug rolercoaster that we have all (most of us at least) ridden in our lives. Perhaps this movie will help our parents understand what our lives really consist of.

This is the best film about youth culture I've ever seen. No cheap tales about drugs or incredible trips into parallel universe, no moralisation, but a sincere view on the substances and the ways they can (or cannot) help regular citizens cope with the ultimate meaningless of life. Highly recommended for everyone.

This is probably my favourite British made film ever. Justin Kerrigan has got everything right, I have been in the same situations, had the same conversations and even have friends like the characters, and I'm sure there are thousands of other people out there the same. Having read the American reviews its obvious to me that none of those critics have, or ever will have those kinds of experiences, and I feel sorry for them, but don't diss the film because you don't get it. Some people argue that Human Traffic is just riding on Trainspotting's success, i warn you do not listen to the self rightous critics. You will find out this movie has a life of its own. Anyone who has experienced the events that take place in this movie for themselves will truly connect with the film. I give this a 10 rating, one of my favorite movies of all time.

Brimming with fun and a few great ideas, it's little more than a foggy memory the minute it's over.
