kathyhJan 19, 20096This was not so bad, usually I do not like Adam Sandler movies but this one, as far fetched as it was, had a few good lines. I do not think it is offensive as some of the other reviewers. Lighten up.

shaneequajJul 28, 20070The humor is obnoxious, generic and grating. One of the worst movies I've seen this year.

[Anonymous]Sep 11, 20070Well Adam Sandler did his typical below average job. I thought Kevin James would make the movie at least so-so, but no, I was disappointed.

JimmyRNov 8, 20070Come on guys, this IS offensive. The gay deceivers, made nearly 40 yrs ago, was the same plot, but way funnier, and a whole lot less offensive. despite the good-hearted message-moment at the end [after a feature's worth of cheesy jokes at the expense of gay people], the two leads are sweet but misguided, and i just wish this movie hadn't been made at all. it makes me sad.

ML.Jul 22, 20078This movie is FUNNY. It looked funny from the previews, and it did not disappoint. Yes, there were sections that I thought were a bit inappropriate. But, most of them were with meaning. This isn't a movie where Sandler has to go over the top, either. Just a fun movie.

LarryS.Jul 23, 20071Poor writing, poor directing, an awful movie! Not even a rental when it goes to video!

-
LennyB.Jul 23, 20079I was surprised to see such negative reviews. I thought the movie was one of Sandler's funniest! I'm sure this movie must of offended many people however. as a big fan of Kevin James I thought the chemistry worked between him and Sandler very well.

ReelWJul 28, 20073Unfunny, overly long, and painful to sit through after Sandler's great job in Reign over Me. Now I know why this film is slated for a Nov 20 release on DVD....IMO - straight to DVD would have been a better plan!

JohnS.Aug 22, 200710Very funny! I don't agree with the critics.

FrankO.Aug 4, 20077I laughed a lot in this movie, better than I expected. Like the role reversal between Sandler & James character(i.e. Chuck helping the son with his dancing routines). Predictable ending but I still enjoyed it!!!!!

A.NonymousJan 14, 20080Crass, banal and incompetent. Typical Sandler trash. The only reason this movie received any good Crits was because it was jumping on the "Gay Rights" bandwagon, in an attempt to hide what was just an immature cheap shot at homosexual jokes.

AnyLDec 21, 200810I thought it was funny, my roommate and I laughed the whole way through, and my roommate is asian and he was not offended by this movie. It was for fun, slapstick, fun comedy....were people expecting a classy drama? gee

AlexGApr 15, 20089Bad Reviews??? surely not this is a brilliant film with some superb comedy acting, it may come across as homophobic and something a pre-teen would design but some of the humor goes beyond that in order to make it appealing to all age groups, perfect for anyone with a sense of humor

EdwardLJul 18, 20078Do NOT listen to the critics!! This movie is awesome!! Extremely funny! I laughed throughout the movie.
-
-
JackL.Jul 25, 20073It's a very shallow and empty movie. The laughs/ jokes belong to the average (or lower) people who cannot interpret to realize how insulting/ racist the jokes are when laughing at them. Bad movie after all.

JoeG.Jul 25, 20070Totally worthless, unfunny, and moronic recycled junior high trash talk.

asdfasdfaJul 29, 20078Done by the same people who did Grandma's Boy, this movie is pretty good and has a lot of the same cast. If you like a good gay joke you'll like the movie.

KaylynRAug 17, 20077It was funny and it wasn't like offensive to gay people either. It had a nice message to it.

StacyS.Aug 21, 200710This was a good movie I didn't mind taking the whole family to see.

-
Nov 26, 20118If people looked at it with any bias then you would see its actually good and that its about acceptence and not hate. The cast was solid and the film was enjoyable.

Jan 10, 20110This movie breaks the cardinal rule of comedies, it's not funny. I didn't even crack a smile once. I just sat wishing it would end. I don't care that it was considered "offensive" (personally, I didn't find it offensive). I'm just pissed I wasted time on this unfunny P.O.S

60The curious thing here is that Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor rewrote this long-in-development screenplay. Yet the authors of such smart comedies as "Sideways," "About Schmidt" and "Citizen Ruth" can't move the film away from the world of easy laughs and sitcom jokes into a realm where sexual prejudices and presumptions get examined in a whimsical yet insightful manner.
-
60The kind of buddy comedy Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau might have starred in 40 years ago, when the material would have felt less dated, if no less silly.
-
Tremendously savvy in its stupid way, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry is as eloquent as "Brokeback Mountain," and even more radical.
