Brilliant, brilliant film. I don't care what the critics say about the plot, I was immpressed with it, but there's more to the film than great plot. Unlike Sean K., other than the whiny girl I liked the characters and the effects and kick-ass action scenes were awesome. Recommended to many.

It is one of my favorite movies, In fact it was my favorite until I am Legend, then that tied with it.

I wanted to see this movie since the moment I saw the preview, but I never did because my mom saw it and never took me! So I finally managed to see it earlier this week and I loved it!

Thought it was really good, it never got boring drfinatly a ten :)

I don't know why this was panned by critics - a great envisaging of Asimov's work, and cool special effects to boot. Spooner is a great character, and there are even comedic moments. Really enjoyable.

I hate Will Smith... but the plot and action are terrific. This movie actually made me respect Will a little more. Besides, he delivers some great lines. Such as when he sneezes then says, "I'm sorry, I'm allergic to bull...." Classic.

This movie was a thrilling movie with a very good twist at the end and good backstory behind Sponner's actions.

F*ck all the people giving it bad ratings. This is my #1 favorite movie of FOREVER. There are so many Sci-Fi movies these days and books and what-not, Sci-Fie just plainly isn't very good anymore, but THIS makes a difference. Some scenes have such great camera work, it made me dizzy! The story is incredibly entwined from beginning to end and leaves you in suspense and also the thing (or person) you think is the bad guy is not what you think when you first see it! It's interesting when the users and the critics diverge on a movie. You can't blame people for going to see the film that the studio was pitching in the trailer, finding a different movie, and being disappointed. This isn't an action thriller, but a character study. Also, it didn't have the infinite budget of a Lucas or Spielberg film, and I'll bet it didn't look as good on the big screen as it does on DVD. Lots of fun references to every robot movie in the past. Lots of fun detail of it's future non-dystopic (for a change) world.… Expand

Great movie. I thought this movie would be good, but then there was something surprising, that it was sometimes funny! I'm not a Will Smith fan, I don't like him except like in the first Men in Black, but otherwise, I don't like him. It was a good Action, Comedy, Mystery, Drama. The whole idea was pretty good. I liked a lot.

Very, very fun and supremely watchable movie. i expected to hate it, and i couldnt have been more wrong. writing and plot arent perfect, but they're very good as far as action movies go and i didnt find myself picking out little inconsistencies throughout the show like i tend to do with mediocre movies - everything unfolded in a very satisfying manner. Smith's Spooner is really a likeable character, as is sonny the robot (in a data-from-star-trek sort of way), and i thought the short list of main characters absolutely played into the movie's strengths. all in all, terrific summer fare.… Expand

This movie is great, it has a slow and "relaxing" start but then when the action starts it really blows you away...

Best robot movie ever made. superb stunts, action scenes, great pick of characters; simply an amazing product of imagination and hard work. Definitely a work of art!

Finally, Hollywood is giving us a reason to not be embarrassed by admitting we like SCI-FI movies. They would do well to stick to Asimov stories. If you liked Bicentennial Man, you will enjoy this movie. Hopefully, there will be a turnaround and stupid movies like Minority Report, A.I. and Vanilla Sky are never made again, but I doubt it.... Anyhow, the special effects are great simply because they put life into the characters. The robot is the star of the movie, every bit as good as Smegel in LOTR. Dr. Calvin was well cast as was Will Smith's character, but his performance was flat at times. After the movie, everyone within earshot was talking about how good the movie was and they couldn't understand why the reviews didn't offer more praise. Glad to hear people have a mind of their own. Nothing like the book but still fun and entertaining. The main thing I liked was the CGI, It was a lot more realistic than I had expected. Also, I was glad that in the end credits it said "Suggested by the Book I, Robot" rather than saying "Based on The Book I, Robot" So you new that it had something but little to do with the book. Will Smith was good but he wasnt in the book at all and the special effects were really good. Great fun.… Expand

I personally didn't think much about the movie before I saw it. I knew I was going to go see it in theaters because I always like Will Smith's movies and this one looked decent. After I watched it I was very impressed, the storyline is fun and logical while providing entertaining action sequences. I don't see why people would even mention bad things about the movie. I went to the theater, had a great time with probably the best summer movie that'll be out, and thats all the matters. Plus, you have to love Will's comic side as well.… Expand

Very good movie. Exellent fast paced plot with plenty of action. The CGI effect were especialy good as was the acting. A word of warning though if you are a fan of Asimov then you may be dissapointed so it is best to approach this movie with an open mind and appreciate it for what it is, which is a superb science fiction film.

How awesome was this movie??!! It had a cool plot and it made me think, which is rare for summer movies...What's amazing is how people arent talking about the special effects. They were amazing!! It's probably because the makers decided to advertise the plot and what the movie is about rather than about some great action sequence, (like Matrix Reloaded car chase)...I urge everyone to see this movie… Expand

Although I agree with James J.'s statement that people do not know what they are talking about when they say it was or wasnt a great adaptation of the book, it actually did have a lot of references to Asimov's short stories throughout. When Will Smith was trying to discern sonny from a thousand other robots, and sonny dreaming are both examples of such references. Excellent movie, I'd highly recommend it.… Expand

Do not be fooled by the average reviews. If you like science fiction movies at all, check this one out. I'm not going to lie and say this is one of the smartest sci-fi movies out there, but it does make you think and has some great action scenes. I got more than I expected which is always a good thing

Nothing like the book, but a good fun movie.

Don't worry about the slam-it-by-numbers reviews from these wannabe film trashers, it's all rubbish, the film is great. A great lead, smart script and cool storyline. Of course we've seen the ideas before, its Asimov! The film tells us so in it's title! Relax your collective batties and enjoy.

This movie was a great representation of the realistically near and possible future. It was lighthearted and thought provoking all at the same time. Really good movie.

An exelent movie and a great comeback for will smith who was perfect for the part. it was willed with action, suspense, and a hint of thriller. a classic movie in my book.

What a great movie. Laughs, thrills, and holds your interest from start to finish. I love the interpretation of a futuristic Chicago. The cgi is abundant but not overdone. Great acting all around as well. Don't miss this one.

I can't believe all the low reviews "I Robot" is getting. It's a great sci-fi action adventure, with excellent special effects and some humor thrown in as well. True, it doesn't follow the book (the credits say it's "suggested" by the book) but "I Robot" was not one of Asimov's best anyhow. I think the movie is FAR BETTER than the book! This movie is never going to win "best picture" but for a fun summer-escape it's one of the best I've seen in the past few years. It definately beats spider-man!… Expand

Dude! The booke was a collection of short stories and this movie isn't based on an of them! Th movie just wraps the vibe of them over another guy's screenplay.
