    Indigo is vaguely defined here as having a certain sensitivity and even power, but the movie doesn’t quite share those qualities, collapsing from a lack of direction in more than one sense.

    Chaney attempts a dreamlike quality by alternating between footage of the young couple together, doing mostly nothing, with admittedly gorgeous scenes of their sylvan landscape. This works to a point.

    Eric Chaney’s debut feature, Indigo Children, doesn’t so much copy Terrence Malick as swallow the filmmaker’s stylistic tics whole and vomit them out onscreen in an ungainly if mercifully brief mess.
