Waaaaay better than I thought it was gonna be. As a huge Mr. Bean fan, I was ready for a non-Bean letdown, but was pleasently surprised by Johnny English. Very funny, and he's soooo good at the role.

The way the movie is crafted, is by MR. Bean letting things happen, the dumb way though. Witch makes it funny and gives the movie its own perspective.

Great movie if you just want an easy laugh and you like Rowan Atkinson. I dont know what the people who gave zeros in their reviews were expecting but you shouldnt expect a Oscar winning movie in the first place. I really encourage you to watch this movie!

Personally one of the most hilarious movies I've ever seen. Watched it countless times and the jokes never fail to make me laugh. A MUST SEE for all Rowan Atkinson and British Comedy fans.

Good for a few laughs and pleasantly almost smut free, but if you want to see Rowan Atkinson at his best, get the Blackadder disks!

Perhaps this is the end of our civilization. I think collecting dead bugs would be funnier than this movie. From John Malcovich's fake french accent to the snot that falls out of Atkinson's nose in scene 14, this movie is an insult to the Population of the universe.

Actually not at all bad. Not great either, but not bad - it's, you know, funny and that. Try to ignore the "based on some adverts" thing - it's really not got much to do with the adverts beyond Atkinson, the character (but not the actor) of Bough, and, and, that's it. Trust me. More of a "video" film than a "cinema" film, but fluffy fun whatever.

Quite a few belly laughs; certainly not an unwelcome response in a world gone horribly mad. Rowan Atkinson remains the master of quirky pantomime and verbal acrobatics.

Feces isn't funny, right? The oblivious look on Rowan Atkinson's face as he wears the bowel movements becomes hysterical only if you realize it's the same expression he affects when kissing Natalie Imbruglia. As Bean, and as the minister in "Four Weddings and a Funeral", and even here as Johnny English, Rowan Atkinson is a likable screen presence. But the script stinks. It can't convert John Malkovich's line readings from smiles into laughs. Expand

Better than I thought it was going to be, it's funny and manages to be a great parody of spy movies, granted you can see some bigger Johnny English's screw ups coming they still turn out funny do to good acting, not sure I would show this to younger audiences, but maybe kids about 13 and up, still if you like goofy spy parody movies then this is for you.

Johnny English is positively one of the most funny films I have ever watched. As soon as I saw the tag line on the DVD box I new it would be good, also, who better to play the bad guy than John Malkovich. Honestly, I can't wait to see the sequel.

Rowan Atkinson's spy spoof is wildly uneven and yet, at times, nothing less than wildly entertaining.

The film manages the rare trick of improving as it unrolls from the utterly putrid to the barely tolerable. And, friends, I wish to say that sometimes that is as good as you can hope for in this racket.
  3. There weren't enough good laughs for me to recommend it to anyone other than the most devoted Beanheads.
