The film delivers lots of high-pitched hysteria but never manages to make its spoiled protagonists interesting.
  2. First-time writer-director Hunter Richards? London is even worse torture than it sounds. It includes flashbacks that actually demonstrate just how miserable a jerk the main character is.

At least London nails the inanity of drug-speak - the bathroom chat quickly devolves from God and ''time horizons'' to coprophilia and a truly dumb confessional tirade by Statham - although perhaps this achievement is unintentional.

These actors know how to pose, understand how to move: Evans crouching in torment, Statham’s finesse in removing his jacket. The mastery of their physiques and handsome features express their pain – make of it a spectacle – even as they attempt to escape it. In Hunter Richards’ London (set in New York City – the title is a genius expression of longing for an ideal), screen sensuality translates into male sensitivity. Evans/Statham rank with the most expressive interplay of male beauty – representing the desire to communicate – in recent cinema: Greggory/Todeschini in Those Who Love Me Can Take the Train, Wade-Drahos/Khabbazi in Circuit, Mac/White in Mr. 3000. This movie is excellent, and I totally couldn't believe so many critics slam it.

Insipid tripe. You'll find yourself wishing for Jason or Freddy or Max Cady to show up and kill all these whiny crybabies before they launch into another vapid conversation about the meaning of life. Expand
