This time around, the director documents a 2011 Young solo show in Toronto (the musician's birthplace), but in an intentionally fractured way.

Young is one of only a handful of artists from his generation still making vital contributions, or even trying to. Some of his efforts are hit-and-miss, but he's still in there swinging. He never stops moving, changing, evolving, and it makes him fascinating.

Fans of the 66-year-old guitar god (which is to say the only people who'll see this homespun gem) will revel in Young's winsome cruise down Memory Lane.

The nicest thing I can think of to say about the doc Neil Young Journeys is that at least it isn't in 3-D.

One of the worst movies ever. 20 minutes of Neil's chin hair with spit on the camera lens. Buy the soundtrack. Great confidence booster for student film makers. Expand
