  • Summary: Accompanied by her dog, 13-year old Talia (Touly), runs away from her home. After she gets in a fight with her stepfather (Dantsoff), she ends up in the Pantin projects near Paris, where she meets new friends.     This one's still worth checking out -- especially for the naturalistic performances by the feisty Touly and the rest of the young cast.
  2. Captures the vulnerability and aimlessness of its unfortunate characters with a heart-in-your-throat rawness that recalls some of the more poignant moments of Italian neo-realist cinema.

    The best parts of the film come when he (Doillon) just lets the camera roll and lets the kids be kids.
