MaseAug 15, 20068An LA movie, that angelenos may apprciate and relate to more than others, very well shot and fairly entertaining. While the acting can be painfully ameturish, there is still a sense of sweetness. I'm surprised at the amount of awards this film as won it's good but not quite great.

GeorgeB.Aug 10, 20066An intersting social commentary on coming-of-age and gentrificaiton, all wrapped-up in one ball of love, uncertainty, and jealousy.

GustavoB.Aug 15, 200610This film is a breakthrough -- an indie without an ironic distance from its subject matter. Really emotionally satisfying.

JimG.Aug 19, 20068A great study in moral reasoning--gentrification, wealth, casual sex, theft, premarital sex, moral absolutism, friendship, dating, duty to family, unwed mothers, sexual orientation, property rights. Shows the incredible difference between a claim to morality and living a moral life.

WestSideAug 22, 20060based completely on stereotypes. gee how original. i bet the screenplay was written in an LA starbucks (on the east side for some cred). 100% lame, even racist.

RyanM.Aug 17, 200610I loved how they developed each of the characters, which was kind of difficult considering the diversity of each of their backgrounds.

PaulK.Aug 31, 20068The premise of the film was original and interesting. The lead actors, particularly Emily Rios and Jesse Garcia firmly anchored this, despite the questionable acting ability of some of the supporting cast and the need for tighter editing. Still, Quinceanera is worth seeing in the theater, or on video.

63Quinceañera isn't a work of art, nor does it want to be. But it is a crowd-pleaser.
-
100One of the most perceptive movies about the gentrification of Los Angeles.
-
63A natural crowd-pleaser, this year's big Sundance award winner is both overly familiar and surprisingly fresh.
