Anubhav Sinha's exhilarating fantasy Ra.One is Bollywood at its best. It has energy, spectacle and humor, song and dance, but razzle-dazzle special effects and action stunts never overwhelm its story of enduring love that unfolds amid an intricate and inspired sci-fi odyssey.

If you're bored by the action scenes or the love story or the dopey domestic comedy, just wait three minutes for something else to come along - and whoever you are, you won't be bored by the musical numbers!

If the storytelling disappoints (shocking!), the film mostly doesn't. It relies on action and effects and Bollywood's trump card, star power, to carry the day. This is Mr. Khan's movie, and once he sheds Shekhar's droopy locks, he shines as the deadpan, action-hero robot with digital snot and smooth moves on the dance floor.

But all the charm in the world wouldn't make Ra.One's sanctimoniousness seem any more genuine.

  1. RA.One is a superb first step that helps in globalizing Indian Cinema. Though the story could have been more thrilling and concrete but Shah Rukh Khan has shown the world his potential in marketing and integrating cinema with other businesses. Expand

Ra. One is one of Bollywood's worst movies, nothing about it works. It is unoriginal, absurd, and just plain stupid. The special effects are crap and the plot is horrendous too. Nothing about this movie works, it is unbearable as you probably can't sit through about an hour max. Bottom line: Don't watch this pitiful mess of a movie, bollywood has better flicks to offer than this garbage. Score: 2.0 out of 10 "Painful". Expand
  3. This film shamelessly copies T2, The Matrix and many other western scifi/action movies but does everything much, MUCH worse. It's difficult to describe how ridiculous it is: compared to this film Steven Segal's movies look like works of profound existentialism. The acting is terrible, the story sucks, the music makes your ears bleed and there are several 'musical/dance' scenes that only serve to make this piece of crap 156 mins long. There was a joke in India that admittance to this film was free but that you had to pay to leave the screening early and that the film made it's money that way. With films like this don't make much chance to get a western audience either. Watch at your own risk! Expand
  4. This is the worst film of Shah rukh khan which is a big zero. This movie is waist of time. Don't think of watching it. From a big zero. Better luck next time king khan. Expand
