GregP.Feb 17, 200710An excellent movie that is on par with SPR , but completed with a fraction of the budget is quite an accomplishment. A movie for future generations to see how the everyday man of WWII generation truly did save the world.

KrisC.Jul 2, 20069A cinematically beautiful depiction of a story that deserved to be told. Great casting and choice use of WWII re-enactors. Amazing sound, both effects and score.

MarkOct 15, 20049What an amazing story of faith, conflict, friendship and honor. This film was so entertaining on so many different levels not the least of which was the great character development. My only disappointment is that the budget wasn't big enough to lengthen the film.

ChrisA.Sep 15, 20097Was a good, yet not action packed war movie. We need more like this that are less glam more emotion.

May 11, 20127Saints and Soldiers isn't the greatest war film by a long shot- Black Hawk Down and Band of Brothers guaranteed that. But it does give the audience an insider's viewpoint to the soldier's struggle with his faith, his freedom, and war itself.

50Shackles its characters with stale dialogue straight out of decades-old Sgt. Rock comic books.
-
70Well mounted, frequently gripping.

The thin backstory hints at a conflict between the religious convictions of the hero (helpfully named Deacon) and the demands of combat, but it never fully materializes; as it is, we mainly know that he's a Mormon because he doesn't smoke or drink coffee.
