Sep 24, 20118Finally Lucas manages to create the final epic conclusion to his SF saga with a dark morale and splendid acting from Mcgregor with high tech CGI.

JonathanJun 5, 20089this movie was the best out of the new trilogy, but i think the only major flaw was how padme dies after giving birth and in episode 6 leia says she remembers her mom as a sad but beautiful woman. WTF is that?? great job george lucas, its your own story and you add obvious holes in it. other than that i think it was cool how it ties in to episodes 4-6.

-
MorganFJul 16, 200810Pure brilliance. Leaves you in awe.
-
-
JimboAug 16, 20087Has the same issues as the other prequels: bad dialogue, bad acting, bad story. It has a few memorable moments and a satisfying ending, but it still doesn't come close to the original trilogy.
-
-
EddieD.Sep 9, 20087An improvement. I think that people liked this movie WAAAAYYYY better than 1 and 2 because everyone was expecting crap. And I don't think we got crap.

OliverL.Oct 3, 200810This is the best film of the year and the best Star Wars film yet, even surpassing The Empire Strikes Back.

AndrewBFeb 26, 200910Episode III is by far the greatest film in the new trilogy, and it stands against the original 3 in epic awesomeness. An incredible conclusion to the greatest saga ever told.

Sep 19, 20108This movie is my favourite in the prequel trilogy. It reaches the emotional level the others fail to get near and the added dark 12 Rating element is exactly what was needed. Every base is covered to lead into Episode 4 and this is sure to give satisfaction to Star Wars fanatics.

Nov 16, 201110Episode III is the best of the Star Wars prequel trilogy, which reveals the story behind Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader and a couple other surprises.

-
EvanB.May 9, 200510I am amazed that after all this time Lucas has come through and has finally delivered a movie worth watching. This movie makes watching the other 5 worth it! Its story is the best of the 6, and its action can't be compared. It is a must watch for any movie lover.

greggfarkMay 10, 20059Wow! It was amazing, great storyline compared to the others. It was less kid orientated and much more rewarding for this. It still had it's problems, like clunky dialogue. But these were few and far between a real triumph! I am gonna go watch the original trilogy again now!! Loved it!
-
-
MelM.May 10, 200510Brilliant! A fantastic ending to a brilliant saga. Thank you George.

-
JavierdeU.May 10, 200510This movie is great! I know some of the most hardcore fans might feel a bit disappointed because of the cheesy lines Anakin and Padme deliver, but Ian McDiarmid steals the show as palpatine and George Lucas has proved he's, as Spielberg always said, a great storyteller. Two thumbs up!
-
-
PeroM.May 11, 200510The best movie of the new trilogy! The lightsaber fights are great. It´s a big action movie with great actors and some drama. The score was perfect. I like it! THX George...

DustinW.May 11, 200510God bless you George. You have done something i didnt think was possible, making the last 2 below averge prequels look like masterpieces, and it was amazing to see the missing puzzle pieces fit together. Thank you George for going out with a bang!
-
-
BryanS.May 12, 200510Vastly superior to Episodes I, II & VI, and by far the best in visual effects. The dialogue is a problem now and then but it doesn't detract from the grandiose spectacle that Lucas has created. This is what I've been waiting for.
-
-
JamesM.May 12, 200510Brilliant...a great summer popcorn flick. Only a bitter elitist critic could not like this one. Get in line and get your tickets. It's an amazing movie.

ChrisS.May 14, 200510Wow! This movie was excellent! I work for a movie theater called Cinema World, and they had a pre-release of it. It was truly the best Star Wars movie, period.
-
-
AsherH.May 14, 20059I was lucky enough to see Ep3 at an early screening two weeks ago. Amazing action scenes, more pathos, and less cheesy dialogue make for the best SW film since Empire--even giving it a run for its money as best Star Wars film. It's not just hype, folks. This is a REALLY good movie.

SethD.May 15, 200510You will see things that you've never dreamed about. A vast universe of alien planets, creatures and moments that will enchant even the most cynical among us. The action is fast and stylized, the flow of the film is poetic in it's homage to shakespear tragedy ant the mood is brooding and fresh. Believe the hype Lucas hit a home run!

ChrisDMay 18, 20054To quote Dan R (below), the "only problems were the acting and the script." But those are pretty substantial problems, if you ask me. The series has always been plagued by Lucas' hammy writing, lame dialogue and 2-dimensional philosophy, but that seems excusable for the 70s and 80s in a way it just isn't now. Eye candy bumps my score up a bit but overall this was disappointingly hollow.

NSMay 18, 200510I was deeply offended by the review of The New Yorker; how can someone give the movie such a bad scores? Nevetheless Episode 3 is an excellent movie.

KalebMay 18, 20051Dont Believe The Hype!!!! This is really no better than any of the other previous recent Star Wars efforts, and anyone who tells you different is just yet another blind fanboy brainwashed by all the hype. I love Star Wars, I really do, but this is just...crap.

B.J.May 19, 20051Public Enemy once said 'Don't Believe The Hype', I just wish I had listened. You got me again George. And while old Georgie boy doesn't seem all that much of a film maker these days, you've got to give him one thing, he's a hell of a marketeer. It's just a shame about the film.

OptimusMimeMay 19, 20052What film are all these lovers seeing, or are they just so Star Wars obsessed that they can't, or won't, see the painful and obvious faults in this (and previous) prequels. It's a bad film, there's no other word for it, it's just a bad film. Wish it wasn't, but it is, and unlike some fans I won't pretend otherwise or blind myself to that fact.

AngryDaytonMay 19, 20050Makes the last two films better my a$$, doesn't even manage to make this one better. So bad I feel ripped off and like I've been lied to. In fact so bad, it actually made me angry, and I never have that kind of response to even the most disappointing of films usually.
-
-
JoeylukinMay 19, 20058The first two were pretty bad let's be honest, so I did not have high expectations for this one. But the movie really does deliver. And the best praise I can give for it is that by the end of the movie I was unbelievably excited to watch the first Star Wars again. That's a great prequel.

JohnL.May 19, 200510Perhaps the best of the series. It pulled together all the unanswered pieces of the Star Wars puzzle together brilliantly. The force has trully returned to the big screen. The third episode is a charm. (Right Paul?)

88Only now can we truly step back and admire the full tapestry that it has taken George Lucas and his ILM wizards nearly three decades to weave.
-
90The final episode of George Lucas' cinematic epic "Star Wars" ends the six-movie series on such a high note that one feels like yelling out, "Rewind!" Yes, rewind through more than 13 hours of bravery, treachery, new worlds, odd creatures and human frailty.
-
90Emerges as the best in the overall series since "The Empire Strikes Back."
