I've never commented here before, and given the wretched reviews professional and amateur so far given I felt I should weigh in. This movie is definitely worth seeing if you're into awkward comedy. This is perhaps the most awkward comedy I've seen in a theatre. Everyone has latched onto the SNL connection so far with Will Forte, but the important one is definitely his one episode stint on HBO's Flight of the Conchords. That's the style he's going for. And Will Arnett pulls it all of beautifully alongside him. Again, if you like Extras, Flight of the Conchords, the Office (and don't come back just to follow the status of Jim and Pam's relationship); if you liked Stranger than Fiction... Given a nine, by the way, because I don't really believe in giving tens. Expand

I was surprised by the poor ratings. I laughed a lot, and i consider myself fairly critical of comedies.

An utterly average film with a few hilarious scenes. Will Arnett is good, but even his Arrested Development references cannot save this mediocrity.

It was a generic comedy that is better off as a straight to dvd release imo. There were funny moments but overall, The film was far too generic and stupid to even be slightly enjoyable.

  1. The sheer, animal idiocy beaming from their faces in the opening credits of The Brothers Solomon creates the film's only moment of uncalculated comic joy.

There is nothing sadder, either in real life or on the movie screen, than an unlikable idiot, and what we have with this dreadful comedy -- the longest 90 minutes of the film year -- is the sight of not one but two charm-free fools.

If "Hot Rod" and "The Ex" couldn't attract an audience, this full-blown comedy miscarriage stands no chance.
