  1. When movie lovers are looking back on the best of 2001, they will still be marveling at the beauty, intelligence and seemingly effortless mastery of Ms. Blanchett's performance.
  2. 80
The Gift delivers the lurid goods as a scary, sexy, twist-a-minute whodunit.
  3. At its heart, there's Blanchett, an actress whose instincts are unerring, and dead-on.
  4. 63
She (Blanchett) single-handedly forms the human heart of this engrossing, if ultimately preposterous, supernatural thriller.
  5. 60
Here, it's the creepily quiet stuff, the stuff that might be rushed over in a different movie -- Annie shivering alone in bed or being visited by her dead grandmother as she hangs out the wash -- that makes the film more than a generic distraction.
  6. There's too much hokum and too little suspense in the screenplay by Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Epperson.
  7. Reviewed by: Curt Fields
So chock-full of stereotypes as to be a filmic Southern Country Safari.

  1. Sep 18, 2014
The Gift has a talented, popular cast. The movie is a puzzling mystery that is well shot and acted.
  2. Sep 18, 2014
The Gift is one of Sam Raimi's masterpieces. The movie is chilling, engrossing and will delight you.
  3. Jun 29, 2014
The Gift is an extraordinary supernatural thriller with Cate Blanchett. Also in the movie is Giovanni Ribisi, Katie Holmes, Keanu Reeves, J.K. Simmons from Spiderman and Katie Holmes. All the acting is great and the film has a spooky atmosphere. The effects are well shot and the plot is deep. A girl goes missing played by Katie Holmes and Cate plays a psychic named Annie. The authorities ask her if she can try and see what's happened to her. She comes up with nothing but little by little she sees clues as to how she was
murdered. She has dreams but she's not sure what the dreams mean.

The murderer is someone she knows but she's not aware of that. Keanu Reeves is framed for the murder for reasons that point to him. The Gift is a tricky thriller that will surely delight you on a drab, snowy or rainy evening.

A fun thriller with an excellent intensity similar to the sixth sense, great acting and many clever chills.

The Gift has refined acting by the cast and impressive special effects. The movie has a creepy, unsettling
    atmosphere similar to The Ninth
Gate. Sam Raimi used his trademark directing style in the movie, and
the movie has a winding storyline that will keep you involved. One of the best thrillers I've seen, A+.

The movie wasn't too bad, it was better than it was worse. I think we all know that the best part was seeing Katie Holmes naked. It was about time, thank you to Raimi. Expand
