EricS.Jan 3, 200410I don't know what many people are talking about. LXG is the greatest movie, because it brings all the great characters into one film.
-
-
BillG.Oct 16, 20030This movie has the possibility to be something great but lost it in the confusion and blundering mess - a bit like my operating system.

-
AllenS.Jul 11, 20032Awful idea from the start. Run, don't walk, away from this movie!! The Avengers Part Deux!! Well, maybe not that bad.
-
-
AmberP.Jul 20, 20030So bad that even a dog couldn't like this movie.

MattG.Aug 4, 20030Please tell me that Sean was kidnapped or blackmailed to do this trash? Absolutely terrible.
-
-
DudleyAug 6, 20030What was Sean thinking?

-
CatherynSep 13, 20037It wasn't exactly the most meaningful film of the year, I'll give you that. On the other hand, it wasn't meant to be. This is what it promised -- an action/fantasy/special FX film which gives you a little excitement for your summer holidays. What else do you want?!

-
PatC.May 4, 20073This presentation is riveting in that one must see what audaciously warped device is forced upon the preceding one. High marks for creativity, but the fact that this cobbled assemblage presumes to work is the only extraordinary thing about it.

ChrisOct 21, 20037This movie set out to be just an adaption of a comic book - not a historical drama. It was simply fun (as it was meant to be)...Simple characters, simple story and simple action LOVED IT.
-
-
CraigS.Dec 3, 20033Dire. Just dire. Looks like they were saving money on the SFX. A pale shadow of the comic.
-
-
BCampbellOct 6, 20037Not the best movie of all time but enjoyable nonetheless.

-
Heaven'sGateGirlOct 7, 20030This movie is awful! It was so bad that I spent the majority of the movie trying to think of another I hated more; I couldn't! I went in thinking this will be a typical action movie (low on plot, big on action) but even action movies have that element that makes them enjoyable. LXG lacks that element. It was so bad I didn't know if I should laugh, cry or walk out - so I did all three!

-
TimL.Jul 11, 20037If you're expecting a re-telling of the graphic novel, you'll be severely let down. If you're looking for something other than the run-of-the-mill superhero movie, you might like it.
-
-
WAKOJAKOJul 16, 20031I was intrigued through all the character introductions, which seemed tongue-in-cheek at best, but the film begins to fall apart as soon as the action begins, which is a shame. The plot just gets murkier and stupider, and the special effects go from dumb to dumberer.

-
LassieterAug 2, 20030Chad is pretty much on the money and is only off by 3 points. Extremely disappointing effort by all. Avoid at all costs.
-
-
Dr.EdAug 5, 20030This is one poor excuse for a movie. How do professionals not see how bad it is being made? Sean will have nightmares that his name is associated with this garbage.

MichalW.(don'tspeakEnglish)Jan 2, 20045This movie isn't great. I think that next day I won't even remember this one. Good idea, I think, but badly executed. Don't throw your money away for it. If you don't have anything better to do you can see it but this one isn't worth buying a ticket. Only good side of this film - special effects. But I've seen better. Just an average movie. !Forgive my English

EdM.Jan 26, 200410I've watched the movie about a dozen times, and bought the DVD. Its like the original Xmen. I loved this movie. It had tons of action and kept me entertained the way your thinking movies suck at. I've read most of the novels of the characters that were in the movie and I have to admit, they were close. Before you hate this movie give it a chance. It is pretty darn good.

BarryM.Jun 29, 20051The 1st 10 minutes were great then it was like waiting for a joke the whole movie. It sucked!
-
-
SamAug 26, 20057I enjoyed this movie. It's not fantastic, but it's not terrible. Decent effects, ok acting, and good ol' fashion explosions make it worth a look, maybe even a rental, or, maybe SOMEday, worth considering a purchase.
-
-
TarekNov 28, 20030This sucked from start to finish. Sean, my main dude, what the hell were you doing in this crap? Sucked BIG time.
-
-
LiaS.Nov 6, 20037It's a good story, but the producers seemed to think no one can understand a more than one minute dialogue. Plus there was too much shooting in my oppinion.

PIRANHAG.Dec 3, 20030Ummmhhhh...... we´re a bit tired of comic books don´t you think. YOU SUCK YOU F...... BORING MOVIE!
-
-
Raj.S.Jul 12, 20033Alan Moore should want to kill someone right now. Maybe Tim L. Someone who apparently holds no regard to "adapting" something. "Adapting" not changing.
-
-
FantasyJul 12, 20030OH MY GOD! It's that awful. Even the beloved Sean Connery can't save this unmitigated drek from sinking to unfathomable levels.

RobertHJul 16, 20031When the great Sean Connery looks back at his career, this is the one movie he will want expunged from his record. He is so beloved that we all feel that he is above ever making a film this bad. Unfortunately, it is what it is? And that my friends is terrible. Avoid at all costs. Sean himself has bombed the movie.

DevonY.Aug 11, 20030Didn't anyone look at this bomb on the cutting room floor before they released it? It is hard for me to believe that with Sir Sean Connery in the flick that he permitted it to be shown without destroying it first? Possibly one of the worst movies, if not the worst, he has ever made.
-
-
HarryH.Aug 16, 20030This movie was a bad as The Core and just as ROTTEN. They have to be kidding making a movie THIS BAD. Poor Sean.
-
-
KateS.Aug 17, 20033I'm giving it a three. One point for Dorian Gray, One point for Tom Sawyer, and One point for Sean Connery. There isn't much plot, and it's an overly lavished action movie. You don't learn to feel for the characters, and the ending leaves you flat. This one is best skipped all together. Sorry mates.

-
PollyAnnaDec 20, 20080You know that feeling where you want to chew your own fist off with embarrassment? Yeah... The dialogue *alone* is that bad but them then there's the holes in the plot... holes big enough to drive a bus through. If your I.Q. is higher than the metascore this is one to avoid.

JohnMar 7, 200910One of the most awesome movies you could ever see. Everytime it's on, I like to watch it. Why the hell would these critics be so harsh?

RalphRubbishJul 14, 20034A fan of the comic - i was not disappointed in the least. i saw all the trailers so i knew it was going to be a horrible waste of time and money. it was everything i thought it would be and more! the worst movie ever, hardly...the worst movie i've spent money on this year...quite possibly.

LomaxH.Jul 28, 20060"It's a Winchester. Modified, American Style." "'Bomb' voyage!" "The sound of treachery!" "To that end, I set my wolf among you sheep." -- "Growl." Thanks again, Hollywood.

-
I.L.Sep 27, 20060This was simply the most boring movie I've ever watched. It tries to cover up the boring parts with shiny effects. I wasn't fooled. It really sucks....ass..
-
-
PaulE.Jul 29, 20090This is definitely the only Sean Connery movie that I ever wanted to walk out on. I couldn't because I was with someone on a first date. She liked it. I never saw her again, in large part because she like it. I hated this movie. It was torture.
-
-
SamK.Nov 14, 20031Sucked Big Time. One point for Sean for being brave enough to say the truth after it was made that it sucked.
-
-
MattK.Dec 21, 20032I read the comic book, and thought it was decent, but i loved the premise.now this movie just sucks, no going around it. not even sean connery can save it, and the special effects are nothing compared to what we've all seen. whatever, i didnt like it.

40Simply put, its too much of a good thing, this unreined tumult of chaos.
-
40Moore invested his characters with flaws, with a tangible humanity; God knows they never felt the need to explain themselves, as the film does, rendering it something akin to one long footnote.
-
40The irony of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is that it has the most literate pedigree of any action movie you're likely to see this year or next -- and it's been made by people who seem to have no sense of how to tell a story.
