This is a more-than-promising directorial debut, well worth seeking by adventurous moviegoers.
Caetano Gotardo's triptych of short tales features a sense of experimentation and poetic license mostly seen in European cinema.
Mr. Gotardo uses long, slowly unfolding shots and extended close-ups to aid our familiarity with each set of characters — almost by osmosis, we grasp their domestic dynamics, the rhythm of their routines.
A puzzling film that despite being saturated with feeling leaves only a vague impression.
