  1. In Duff's movies, the question is whether the movie will find enough interesting stuff to compensate for the blandness at the center. The Perfect Man does.
  2. Even though the supporting cast is likable and the film hits all the beats of its formula, it's weak, as if everyone has been to the well one too many times.
  3. 50
To be endured rather than enjoyed.
  4. The movie is a tortured marshmallow.
  5. The Perfect Man is like Teen People come to life. It's perfectly PG, and it's probably not the worst thing a young lady could see, depending on your criteria. Cinematically, it's like watching your lawn grow.
  6. Repetitious teen-targeted fluff.
  7. What sin did Heather Locklear commit to deserve her role in The Perfect Man?

Duff sucked, as she does in all of her movies. Locklear sucked, everyone sucked. This movie sucks!

It's classic summer counterprogramming: When a major action film comes out (like this week's "The Expendables"), counter it with something that appeals to women (like this week's "Eat Pray Love"). We look back at some of the worst examples of the "chick flick" genre since 1990.
