Being a spongebob fan, I confess it wasn't nearly as good as the show.

It sucked. way too random, the hilarity of the show was always absent, some funny but disturbing moments, i hated it. i think i chuckled once or twice about how bad it was.

This movie was so horrible, we left during the middle. What could have been cute and clever was ruined by unnecessary rough language and violent scenes. Not even funny for adults. Probably the worst movie I have ever seen!

Bad, bad, bad. I like the SpongeBob television show, but this movie, but for one or two moments, was just plain PAINFUL to watch. Moronic would be giving it too much credit. Even the kiddies put it in the "doggy doo" category. My advice: Stay away.

I love SpongeBob, but, I'm sorry, the movie just wasn't very good. I kept waiting for it to find that weird-yet-funny SpongeBob groove, but it never did. The storyline was sadly generic and the jokes just didn't come. Stay home and watch SpongeBob on TV--it's infinitely better.

I remember the time when I went to watch this movie in theaters... Ok, no I don't because I was like 5... But, nevertheless, I have seen it on various other occasions such as on TV or VCR. And in my opinion, I think it is a very funny and enjoyable family movie. Especially Spongebob fans. Humor was constant and the plot was very well put together. Its story line was not the best but its comedy and original humour was incredibly funny.

Spongebob is a fun loving character who make life seem like a breeze. But plankton finds out that he has one more plan.Wonderful scenes which involve monsters and all types of sea creatures.In the attempt on rescuing the crown from shell city he passes many dangers.

I recommend seeing this movie, spongebob sometimes isnt as funny in the tv show and i barely laugh at it sometimes, but now when i saw this movie it has funny and clever humor. Best movie i've ever seen.

It is the best film ever im 17 and very much enjoyed it and so did my friends that i made go with me they absolutely hated spongebob but now after seeing the movie they love it. it is the best ever its funny and upsetting when he nearly dies but has a happy ending i got very into it me and my friends properly enjoyed it more than the kids because we understand the jokes more.

Spongebob is great and the movie does not let down. Unlike most tv to film projects, this one works because it goes deeper than the show and makes you want to stick around for the whole duration.

Deft, innocent and simple fun. Nothing of lasting value to provoke the thought process, but still worthwhile for the frivolity of it all.

I thought it was hilarious. My 4 year old son and I enjoyed it equally. Not everything will be Tolkien or Shakespeare; there's no fault in simple pleasure.

I love SB, but I'm sorry, I wasn't impressed. It had its moments, but they were not enough to rate what I paid to see it for me and my family. Not sure I will even buy the DVD. I've seen many episodes that were much, much better.

This movie was hilarious, i disagree with people who say it was to violent and/or crude... Spongebob is a cute lovable character in this movie, and backed up by his friend it makes it a wacky, fun filled adventure which is very entertaining from beginning to end. I found the music used throughout it cute and appropriate to the film. All in all, a 10 out of 10!!!

If I was younger and or high on illicit drugs this movie would have been much funnier. However it was aparent to my friend and I that we were the only two adults without kids in the whole place. Ironically some of the humor seemed a little too adult and the duo a wee light in the loffers if you know what I mean. It was almost ok but really not meant for a movie. They tried to cut down the zaniness...and in doing so, they lost the magic of the regular TV series. Very disappointing.

To start, I'm a father of two girls and a SpongeBob fan. We have several DVDs from the Nick cartoons and we think they are hilarious. Sadly, this movie doesn't come close to representing the laugh out loud episodes we are accustomed to. I can only think of one or two funny moments and my girls (6 and 9) also thought it was a dud. Only good thing about the movie was it had the original cartoon characters. If you are a true fan of SpongeBob, recommend you avoid this movie and go buy/rent some of his Nick cartoon DVDs.… Expand

This film is very good. in some places it can drag a little, but doesn't that happen in every film. You could love the movie, or hate it. It is stupid, pointless, and full of dumb lines. I loved it. It is full of traditional spongebob zanie-ness, all that I would expect of the show, and more. If you, like my family, owns every realised spongebob DVD, knows every line by heart, and can't resist singing that you are a Goofy-Goober, this movie will rock your world!

I like the Sponge but this movie didn't capture the hilarity of the show it was pretty good nonethless but jokes were too far between each other but some were pretty funny but it could've been much worse. Oh well better luck next time.

I love SpongeBob and it's a show that I never get tired of. The movie was funny, had a good story, and it's one that I can watch again and again. I highly recommend it to any SpongeBob fan, or anyone that likes cartoons in general.

A Classic movie of 2004 i love this movie i thought animated movies are too babyish, but this one get's the flying **** outta that class for sure. it's very enjoyable for self or family to watch. also has a solid unforgettful storyline.

I always watched Spongebob even before there was this movie. I enjoyed watching the tv show and I definitely enjoyed watching this movie. The movie is just like watching the tv show. It has those moments that are some-what used in the tv show. But watching it on the big screen was a good change. As far as the storyline goes, its definitely adventurous.
