I would rather get a root canal then be subjected to this rehashed garbage of a movie. It would be hard to decide which was worse, the acting, the writing or what passes for direction.

No chemistry between the two men; over-acted stereotypes in the lesser roles... The movie is not funny, romantic, moving or sexy.

Some of the worst writing and directing I've come across. You can only pity the actors who seem to be biding their time until they can get the hell out of there. Shame Shame Shame.

Throughout, Sullivan and Braun shine, making for a match so sexy and appealing that it's a shame Swain avoids their love life, an approach that doesn't exactly advance gay liberation -- or cinema.
  2. Swain balances the personal and the political, allowing his film to be intimate while keeping a larger perspective. It is refreshing to see people on screen who are living in a real world.

With its implausible coincidences, inelegant plot twists and minimally characterized characters, The Trip doesn't have much going for it apart from its basic sincerity and decency, which are evident.
