raVenNov 2, 20039The fact that none of the players are really much recognizable past "Oh that's the guy from that one thing" status only adds to this movie's credibility--wild as it becomes at times. The fact is that it's smart and makes you feel good. You can care about the characters as if they were real, because they SEEM real. Good fun.

GilbertO'MulroneycakesDec 21, 20038What Ned's surname's doing in the title I don't know, but I press on - if Ealing had been in Ireland, this is the kind of film they would have made - a gentle, warm slightly scattershot comedy, populated by faintly lovable eccentrics and faintly eccentric loveable people, and if that's not enough for you, you're dead inside.

BobM.Aug 22, 20038Not really my kind of movie but it's really a good movie. Heart warming and funny. If you liked The full monty you'll like this flick.

75An unabashed excursion into feel good territory.

50Predicated on the slimmest of notions, this debut by Jones is so cuddly-cute in its desire to be pleasing that it's all but transparent.

60Writer-director Kirk Jones has the movie roll over, fetch and chase its own tail in order to make you love it.
