If you choose to plunk down your eight bucks on this year's grand prize winner from Hollywood's long-running narcissism festival, realize that you'll have to make your own fun since "XXX" is a two-hour mirth killer. The scars on Samuel Jackson's face suggests that the star of "Deep Blue Sea" miraculously survived the shark attack and had reconstructive surgery. And do the bikini-clad girls keep their tops on because the Czech Republic is cold, or because Sony wanted a PG-13 rating? In a movie like this, you don't mind if there's no story, character development, and intelligence, as long as Team Ka-Boom knows something about style, kinesis, and how humor is the much-needed knuckleball to keep things from being one-note. They don't, so we can't help but notice the pedestrian story, perfunctory acting, and lack of wit. Say "no" to "XXX". … Expand

Ok, let's get this straight right off the bat. You cannot bring your brain to this. Once you get over that, you will enjoy this movie immensely. The visual and aural stimuli are overwhelming. Beautiful locations, beautiful women, and loud and amazing action sequences. The action sequences top most anything Bond has done over the last 10 years. Sure, there's plot holes all over the place, and some things are just plain dumb. I gave it a seven, but the movie could have earned more points with a little nudity. Just like the Bond movies, this movie aims for the pre-teens and teens, which means no extended nookie or swear words. As much as it claims to be this generation's James Bond, XXX doesn't stray too far from the formula of the original. A few choice booties in thongs and that's about it. Oh, and the scene in the bedroom should have been much longer. All in all, however, if you check your brain and realize that you are going to the movies to be entertained, this is a heck of a way to spend two hours.… Expand

You can go into this film with an open mind and come out stupider than ever. The first half of this film was horrendous, the acting was terrible and the action scenes were weak. And then the film actually got better even though it made no sense. There were too many holes in the plot to tell you about. During every action scene, there always happened to be a motorcycle nearby so Vin Diesel could show off some stunts. And then director Rob Cohen would shoot it from every possible angle in slow motion and bore the hell out of us. This is the type of film that you could sleep through, wake up and it would make no difference. How many times have we seen these superficial European villains who want to end the world? Vin Diesel was actually better in this film than he has been in the past. But he's working off better actors even though I haven't seen a worse performance from Sam Jackson since Amos & Andrew. The movie was Terrible! ABSOLUTE TRASH!!! But it was a pure-blood blow-you-away thrill ride that was loads of fun. And I see where Roger Ebert's coming from. It IS a HUGE salute to the Bond man. And though the plot was utterly silly and had an unimaginable amount of holes I wouldn't mind seeing it again. I the form of a sequel XXXX.

This movie has more testostrone flying around then a Michael Jackson slumber party. I know that this movie is "cliche," well, to those of you who dispise this film, here's a little gift from me to you; "F.... you." I don't mean to be obscene but, ladies and gentlemen, this is better than Bond. Amazing action scenes and it, once again, proves that Vin is 10 times the action star the Schwarzenegger ever was. I cannot stand those action movies where people are just slaughtered w/o blood or the slightest ounce of sympathy, well, this is that kind of movie except w/o NEARLY as high a body count and totally jokey. This movie was awesome. Vin Diesel is a great actor. It had a great plot to it and was very suspenseful. I liked the whole movie beginning to end.

I went to "xXx" with the expectation of having a good, action filled, 'Bond-threatening' time. From the opening of the film, with its barely disguised 'kill Bond' sequence, the movie started a cascading effect of disappointment. Vin Diesel would have lost acting contests with Keanu Reaves. The man can't even -stand- convincingly, and his on-screen kisses harken back to family reunions and face-slobbers with relatives. Half the time he's onscreen, Vin's facial expression is one of a cartoon character that's just been hit with a frying pan. Or perhaps put more succinctly, "duh." I'm sure that Vin does many if not all his own stunts. So what? This film became boring about halfway through, a terrible thing to happen in an action film. Avoid. Bad. Trolls. … Expand

Got some good action, but the non existant plot and BAD acting made left me angry at myself for wasting my money. Vin Diesel owes me an appology.

If you can get through the first thirty minutes of this film -- which might be the worst thirty minutes of the year -- you could enjoy yourself until the shockingly lame "weapon" with embarrassing brush gold detailing is revealed as a source of mass destruction and director Cohen decides his characters need to look in a manual three times to decide how to save the world. How did X become so indecisive at the most crucial moment while riding a horribly fake looking craft speeding 80 mph, could you cut back to his blank face more often? It's the middle of this film that's successful and fun, all of it culminating in an intestine shaking mountain stunt. If there are going to be sequels, please get a new composer -- this is the worst score in, i don't know, forever. I would rather have rammstien playing throughout since they were the only interesting thing in the opening "kill Bond" scene. Diesel needs a new director to help him out. Asia Argento can handle herself -- good casting, a little grit in the sterile world of demographic targeted schlock that baits like nothing since Fast in the Furious. At least this one's better than that. Maybe the problem is that you see the film trying so hard to be hip/cutting edge/ Xtreme in so many scenes that you can't completely relax and have a b-movie good time. Wander into the film in the middle, leave before the end and don't listen to the score. You could have a good time. That's it, let's hope XXX2 is better.… Expand

Can I give a minus rating? I left the theater as did others wishing I had a bag over my head so as not to be identified. Absolutely dreadful from top to bottom. You have been warned. Seeing this movie could be dangerous to your intelligence.

This movie was very boring. Yes, it has some humor, yes, it has some good action scenes. Between those action scenes, however, is a very bad plot, and very dull scenes. Spending 15 minutes watching Vin Diesel sitting in a nightclub talking to people is one of these dull scenes. A few good action scenes, but dull overall.

Hmmm, this movie when is bound to leave one very confused upon leaving your local cinema. You are left searching for answers to questions like,"Is it ok to like this movie?" Yes, it certainly is. If this movie was a sandwich, the action would certainly be the meat, the plot (since it really isn't that important) would be swiss cheese(lots of holes) and Vin would be a red onion, sweet at times, but, at othr times, tough to take. The best way to enjoy this fun movie is too simply acknowledge how ridiculous and dumb it is, and realize that that's part of it's appeal. If he's gonna shoot a guy while in the air on a motorcycle, WHY NOT do a superman seat grab WHILE shooting the guy? Its one big, fun, cheap thrill.

There were a couple of significant holes in the plot, such as the fact that no one was told that XXX had been taken off of the mission. But these holes were necessary, otherwise he would never have been able to mount an attack and thus have been able to save the world. The point is that this is one of those movies that will entertain you every step of the way so long as you forgive it9;s mistakes and just agree to go along for the ride. Personally I'll watch almost anything but I almost never like films unless they can be classified as "art films", but this movie was just pure fun and I'm glad I saw it. I can't fault a movie that knows what it wants to be and sticks to that.… Expand

Not worth your time. Vin Diesel needs a movie career consultant quick. He surprised me in "Pitch Black" and was very entertaining in "Fast and The Furious". But in "XXX" it just seems like he's going through the same rhythms in a movie that's like Fast and The Furious without the cheesy fun and James Bond without any interesting characters. This movie BURIES "Signs." That's right, Nick! At least it was fun, which is what I was looking for tonight. It won't win any awards, but it's a great time. Vin Diesel is a fresh new take on the secret agent thing, and the best performance was clearly by the bewitching Asia Argento. She's been hanging out in Italian Cinema for too long. For a movie bold enough to dub itself 'XXX', i was expecting alot more than what i got. alot of people are comparing this movie to those of the James Bond franchise, so let me break it down to you like this...XXX is 007 without the attitude, with bigger guns, less espionage, more firepower, and with a plot which could have been written by a 4th grader.

It bored me to dead, but the special effects where ok. I think that if the main character would have died it would be a lot more interesting.

I liked the part where Diesel ripped apart his handcuffs and shackles, dodged the missle, jumped out of the helicopter while shooting dual machine guns during a somersault in the air before evading bullets and a grenade and landing on a remote control motorcycle he coordinated to drive itself under him. he is so manly.

Rate this movie based on what is supposed to be! It doesn't have an amazing plot because it's a good excuse for women to concentrate solely on Vin. The fight scenes and stunts were all good & he was great! However, all the guys that gave this less than a 5 are simply jealous because they'll never look quit as good as he did in fur.

Vin Diesel belongs in videogames, not movies. I don't know how anyone could stand watching this putrid movie. Some of the worst acting I've ever seen, terrible plot, and offensively bad dialogue. Somebody would say that the movie isn't meant to be taken seriously. Neither are James Bond or Die Hard movies and I liked them a hell of a better than this garbage. Avoid this movie like the plague. The ending was an embarrassment to any action movie. Vin Diesel needs to make another Riddick game and drop his acting career. The Boiler Room was the best acting he's ever had and he didn't even play a significant role in that movie. He is convincing as the Riddick character, too bad the only thing the last Riddick movie had going for it was the fantastic Sci-Fi environment. I would give XXX a negative score if I could.… Expand

It's not supposed to be Citizen Kane, people! It's a shooty-bang bang kill everyone big explosions action Bond-saluting piece of highly explosive, quick-detonating fluff that will kill you. Look deeply at it and it collapses in a heap. Best bet: don't look deeply at it.

Not Diesel's best film but action packed with action, action, action not to mention action! The film is cool, the sp.effects rule but the story is far fetched and the film is a bit too long.

People, please stop watching this movie expecting Fellini! XXX is a post-modern marvel: self-aware and satirizing, it makes fun of itself, all the while re-inventing the spy genre. Just count the # of Bond cliches that are made fun of (Fruit cart? Ejector seat?)!

I thought it was a pretty good action movie. It was action packed from start to finish, original, and rather fun to watch. I enjoyed it and I am rather suprise to see that users didn't enjoy it as well.

The action scenes of this movie were terrifically mind-blowing, but the poor plot and mediocre voice acting screwed it up. "xXx" isn't a movie that I recommend

xXx is still infected by Cohen with the same chaotic rage of Fast and Furious; however, its not as insufferable, considering the action covers more ground than just aimless car chases.
