Cee Cee Michaela

Biography: One early Bostonian morning around 5:00 a.m., Cee Cee took the forty dollars that her mom had sent her to use for books, cut class, bought a $29.99 Greyhound ticket, arrived in New York, bought a bagel for $2.50, some juice for $1.50 and a BackStage paper for $1.75. She thumbed through the trades, spotted a new Broadway show called "Jelly's Last Jam", borrowed a pen from a bum, circled the ad, guzzled down the juice and arrived at the open call at 1:00 pm. Five hours and four hundred girls later she called her mom yelling, "I can't go back to school...I'm Gregory Hines's sister, I'm in New York and besides I only have four dollars!" Her daughter wasn't crazy, just crazily driven and the rest is as they say herstory.
Cee Cee Michaela (pronounced MICK-KAY-LA) who currently resides in Los Angeles is originally from Hickory, North Carolina. She along with her three older sisters were raised by her mother, who was her biggest influence by being an actress in the local community

Cee Cee Michaela (pronounced MICK-KAY-LA) who currently resides in Los Angeles is originally from Hickory, North Carolina. She along with her three older sisters were raised by her mother, who was her biggest influence by being an actress in the local community theaters as well as a high school English teacher. As a result, there was an over abundance of artistic outlets.
Cee Cee's mother sacrificed much in order for her to train in acting, dance and classical voice lessons which started at the age of ten. By the time she was fourteen she had acquired four octaves and could sing in three languages. She graduated as a North Carolina Honors Scholar and Who's Who Among American High School Students. She attended the North Carolina School of the Arts where she majored in Dance and Voice as a Terry Sanford Scholarship recipient. She continued her education at the Boston Conservatory of Music as a BCM Scholastic/Talent Scholarship recipient. She received her BFA in Musical Theater and graduated with honors.
Cee Cee moved to New York and was cast in the role of Viola, Gregory Hines's sister, in Broadway's Jelly's Last Jam, and Charlene on ABC's All My Children. She went on to star in the Canadian run of Broadway's Once On this Island where she garnered a Dora Mavor Moore Award (Canadian Tony Award) nomination for Best Female in a Musical. Cee Cee also performed in the smash hit Smokey Joe's Cafe which ran on Broadway for five years.
While in Los Angeles, she guest starred on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Tonya in the feature film Senseless with Marlon Wayans. She was a series regular on a one hour television series entitled "Born Free" which aired in several foreign countries. She most recently guest starred on CBS's City of Angels, Chicago Hope, Promise Land and NBC's M.Y.O.B. Cee Cee is currently recurring on Lifetimes' Strong Medicine, which is executive produced by Whoopi Goldberg. Her most current role is on UPN's Girlfriends where she plays Crazy Internet Yvonne, a cop who is now William's girlfriend. The show is produced by Kelsey Grammar.
Cee Cee also is a singer/songwriter of Alternative/Folk/Soul music which she not only performs and writes, but arranges and produces on her new EP entitled "musicollideascope...in the beginning." Her songs will calm your spirit and stir your soul. She is extremely diverse and this cd features the many colors of her musical styles. Her lyrics are enchanting-so much so that several of her songs have been played on popular TV shows such as UPN's Girlfriends, Fox's Party of Five, Time of Your Life and CBS's Promised Land. She is also a poet and is currently seeking a publishing company for her books "i'm just an alien and other alienated poetry" and "Pieces of a Moment-Moments of Peace."
While Cee Cee has a very promising career in Theater, Film and Television, she is currently pursuing several new goals which include a recording/publishing deal and hosting her own show.
"You know I still have the pen that I borrowed from that bum...I had written every one of my poems and songs with that pen. The day that it ran out of ink...I felt like I had run out of words." Judging from her collection of songs and poetry which continue to grow steadily, Cee Cee will never run out of things to say.
