Emily Blunt

Biography: Emily Blunt is an English actress who gained the critics' attention in My Summer of Love and international recognition in The Devil Wears Prada. For her roles in these two movies, Emily received several nominations from different award-giving bodies including the Golden Globes and the British International Film Awards.

Emily was born on February 23, 1983 in Roehampton, South West London, England. She received her education from the co-ed private school Ibstock Place School in her hometown. Even at age eight, Emily had a stammer which they tried to remedy through enrollment in relaxation sessions. Not until she was asked by her teacher to play a different voice when was twelve that her stammer disappeared.

Further studies at the top co-ed boarding school Hurtwood House gave her the opportunity to perform at the Edinburgh Festival during the turn of the century. Thru signing with an agent, Ken McReddie, Emily landed roles in British television as well as stage productions across London. Her breakout performance came in her role as Tamsin in My Summer of Love. The Evening Standard British Film Awards named her Most Promising Newcomer after that role.

Emily soon captured the attention of Hollywood movie fanatics with scene-stealing performance in The Devil Wears Prada in 2006, a project which led to bigger films alongside more popular names in the industry.

Emily has been dating Canadian jazz singer-composer Michael Bublé since they met backstage at one of his concerts in Australia in 2005. … Expand
