The hills are alive with the sound of music when The Saddle Club cast gathers for filming. Jessie is delighted to be re-united with friends from the stage production of The Sound of Music, which played at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne. Jessie made her theatrical debut in the role of Marta von Trapp, and her sister Brigitta was played by Janelle Corlass-Brown while Glenn Meldrum played brother Friedrich. "It's great to be working with people I know from that show and also one of the directors Arnie Custo directed 'Worst Best Friend' the television mini series I was in, so it's like working with a bunch of friends," says Jessie.
Jessie was an accomplished cal violinist, having studied for six years. "My favorite subject is Music, probably because my dad teaches it and I also like Art and English," she told us. Jessie had two brothers aged 18 and 9 who have both done some acting but according to her "they are over that now".
Her other credits include Annie and The Snow Queen for the Dandenong Theatre Company, Sunday in the Park and Children of Eden for the Monash University Performing Arts, Molly in the television mini-series Worst Best Friends (Channel 10), Tinkerbell and The Snow Queen for S.L.A.M.S. and Jessie also appeared in the Bob Downes Christmas Show at the Athenaeum Theatre.
Jessie was also nominated for a Guild Award, which is for children performing in amateur theatre.
Jessie loved animals and had a cat God 2 (named by her brother she assured us) and two budgies Budge and Tiffany. Her ambition was to either continue as an actor or maybe work behind the scenes, perhaps as a director.
On May 10th 2008 Jessie was struck by a train at Cheltenham railway station whilst heading out to by her brother a birthday present - she was 17 years old.… Expand
