Joel Grey

Impish, energetic musical performer best known for his stage work, but the recipient of a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his characterization of the attentiongrabbing emcee in Cabaret (1972). He evolved into a first-rate character actor, playing a psychic in Man on a Swing (1974), a man of mystery in The Seven Percent Solution (1976), a wise man (buried under Asian makeup) in Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985), an officious pencil-pusher in Kafka (1991), and Charles Durning's calculating, poker-playing companion in The Music of Chance (1993). His daughter is actress Jennifer Grey.
