Julie Khaner

Biography: Born in Montréal, Québec, Canada, Khaner knew that she wanted to become an actress at an early age and was able to pursue her interest when she turned 16 and was accepted at Dawson College. At the College's Dome Theater she studied all aspects of the performance arts, including props and costumes as well as acting. Her first acting job was a featured role in the 1981 television movie Escape From Iran, which told the story of the Canadian Embassy's rescue of American diplomats. Since then, Khaner has enjoyed success in series television, theater and film. She is best known in Canada for her six years as a judge in the CBC drama Street Legal, for which she was nominated for a Gemini award.
The actress' theatrical credits include performances in the plays King Lear, Measure for Measure and Sexual Perversity at the renowned Stratford Festival. She also toured with the Festival with the play Twelfth Night.
