Lauri Hendler

Biography: Lauri started before the camera at a very early age with her first modeling job at eight months, her first commercial at eight years and her first acting job on The Streets of San Francisco at nine.

That first acting job contained all the highs and lows of a longtime career: The thrill of booking a job, of seeing her very own name on the door of her very own dressing room (in chalk), plus a car to drive her up the hill from the dressing room to the set. When the episode aired, however, Lauri was nowhere to be seen. Despite being left on the cutting room floor her first time out, she was determined at the age of eleven, to make acting her life's work. Lauri worked steadily thereafter through her teen years in numerous guest-starring roles, lead roles in TV movies, pilots and in two series including, of course, the long-running sit-com Gimme a Break ! Following that five-year run, Lauri moved to New York City to study acting formally. After returning to Los Angeles,

Following that five-year run, Lauri moved to New York City to study acting formally. After returning to Los Angeles, following some guest spots and yet another TV pilot, Lauri decided to take some time off from acting on-camera. She spent most of the nineties studying her craft, performing improv, doing voice-over work, and mostly living a somewhat normal life outside of showbiz.

After this period, she grew tired of normalcy and has recently rekindled her pursuit of on-camera work, appearing most recently on The West Wing and Charmed.
