Peter Guber

Biography: Peter Guber gained the reputation of a hotshot producer in the 70's, first as the head of Columbia Pictures, a job he took at age 28 and quit at the age of 34, then as the CEO of Sony Pictures in 1989. Guber made Sony the #1 studio in just about every quantitative category but ultimatly the risks started to backfire and he was forced to resign in 1995. Guber is currently the Chairman and CEO of Mandalay Entertainment.

Peter Guber is a professor at UCLA, where he teaches a class on the film-making process from concept to release. Peter Guber also hosts a weekly show on AMC TV, with Variety editor-in-chief Peter Bart where they discuss the various driving the film industry.
