Rachel Axler

Biography: Rachel Axler received her MFA from the University of California-San Diego in playwriting in 1999 and went right to work after that. Her plays include works like Kitchen Sink, CouchWorks and Museum Piece. She landed what she referred to as her "dream job" as a writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart by attending a which was being taught by one of the show's writers. While she was noticed by the staff, she didn't get the job right away since they were not hiring new writers at the time. She did manage to get a writing job for the Late Night with Conan O'Brien show and remained there until an opening appeared on The Daily Show.

Rachel left The Daily Show in 2007 to become a writer for the NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation with Amy Poehler. She had also written for the 80th Annual Academy Awards.
