Trisha Yearwood

Biography: Patricia Lynn Yearwood, better known as Trisha, was born in Monticello, Georgia. Trisha moved to Nashville to pursue her dream. Trisha graduated from Belmont University with a bachelor's degree in Music Business in 1987.

Trisha quickly earned an internship with MTM Records and soon moved on to become an in-demand demo singer. This resulted in an up-and-coming Garth Brooks hiring her as a backup vocalist, and a record deal with MCA. Trisha's self-titled debut album was released in 1991. The single, "She's in Love With the Boy," rocketed to the top of the country charts. Three more singles from the record -- "Like We Never Had a Broken Heart," "That's What I Like About You," and "The Woman Before Me" -- all made it into the Top Ten. After this Trisha decided it was time to go on tour. She toured with Garth Brooks as his opening act. This gained her the exposure that she needed. Trisha became the first female country singer ever to sell a million copies of her debut album

Trisha may have started out as Garth Brooks side kick, and ended as his wife, but during this time she has established herself as an amazing and talented country musician.
