From the bright and polished mazes to the cleverly crafted gameplay, From Cheese is a steal at $0.99.

Pinch 2 HD can be a real brain-teaser, with levels that are extremely challenging, especially if the player's goal is to collect all the medals. It requires a lot of outside-the-box thinking, and can be maddening at times.

It's a very well made game, with highly polished visuals and very responsive controls, it's a lot of fun, and a heap of frustration is relieved by the "so close" message that appears when being one move away from completing the level, saving me from going around in an endless circle.

Trials 2 HD veterans might feel a little cheated by the level of difficulty here, but they'll still find fun to be had. For the lesser mortals like me, it's a great way of reaping the benefits of such a genre with less frustration!

Blade Lords does get points for really trying to do something different with the one-on-one combat experience by going down a familiar route. While I'd like to see less monetization influence and more pure fighting game influence added, this is still interesting enough to check out for fighting fans.

Wingsuit Stickman is a fun game that takes full advantage of accelerometer controls. But it can be quite challenging. I would NOT suggest this game to someone with a short temper when it comes to games. I have a friend that I'm quite sure would through an iPhone if I got him to play this one.

Star Wars: Force Collection induces its fair share of painful moments, but there’s a surprisingly competent CCG hiding just below the fan service.

The game mechanics tie together neatly so Grow Away! proves to be excellent fun. Levels gradually work their way up in terms of difficulty, ensuring that players never feel too out of depth or patronised. Grow Away! is near guaranteed to offer hours of vegetable flinging fun.

Zombies as a cultural phenomenon may run the risk of being passe' and overdone very soon (My prediction? The zombie bubble collapses when a broadcast TV network decides to make their own ripoff of The Walking Dead), but thankfully Zombieville USA 2 does a great job at interpreting a classical genre in the modern era.

I loved my first playthrough of Firetop Mountain, even though I died. On the second playthrough, I was laser focused on beating it and did so while skipping over a lot of the text I read the first time. After that, I didn't really want to go back to the game. For a roguelike, this would be a terrible thing, but for a game book, I suppose that's not too shabby. Despite some of its issues, The Warlock of Firetop Mountain is certainly a complete and compelling package, though maybe not one you'll want to revisit.

Undead Slayer is really entertaining. It controls well, it's simple, yet uncannily deep. It looks good, and despite the painful dialogue, shallow story, and lagginess, it's a solid hack-em-up. Lively and outrageous, we had a blast with this one.

This game is unique: a truly hardcore mobile game. I don't mean that in the sense that it's like N.O.V.A. 3, but that it is for a player who wants to combine mobile gaming convenience with an experience that requires serious commitment.

Stunt Star: The Hollywood Years is a lot of fun. I definitely enjoyed playing it and found myself repeating levels I had already cleared just to see if I could get a better score. The variety of vehicles, add-ons and number of levels help make this great game a lasting experience.

Bejeweled HD might be a little pricey for a game we've almost all bought at least once in the past, but it's a well rounded package. Each of the modes is enjoyable to play and ideal for a variety of different match three experiences. That "one more go" feeling is ever strong here.

Feed the Penguin Premium is challenging and sure to keep players occupied longer than most casual games. I loved the quirkiness, which I felt made it stand out in the overcrowded App Store.
