Top-class graphics, sound and atmosphere - with due modesty: this is the the world's best first-person shooter so far. A game which combines all the virtues of its predecessors: a thrilling story, an open game world, physics simulation and graphics to marvel at. -

Fallout 3, a successful reanimation of a classic role-playing game, is one of the best modern RPGs and one of the greatest games of 2008. With up to date 3D graphics, good game design and adequate playing time, it's one of those rare pleasant surprises one doesn't dare to hope for anymore. For some it's almost video game art, but it's definitely very good entertainment. -

The basics are still the same, but GTA 4 is a masterpiece. The game world created by Rockstar North is simply amazing. The shootings, radio, TV, the story and the characters create more than just a sandbox game. It's almost a parallel world. -

Finally there’s a multi-player mode and it’s excellent, too. There are 15 different settings for single players and much more. Whether you like to play all alone or you prefer to play with or against others, you’ll enjoy Anno 1404: Venice. -

This is the best game by Bioware since Baldur's Gate 2. It's a highly motivating and excitingly told adventure for adult gamers. You'll experience rage, anxiety, inner conflict, loss, sympathy, bafflement and joy in this epic drama. Probably the role-playing game of the year. -

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare may be relatively short with just six to seven hours playing time, but thanks to the brilliant staging those hours are the most impressive ones we've experienced with any action game yet. -

No pit stops, no car tuning. Race Driver: Grid is all about driving, having fun and running a racing team. The game drops you right into the race without training laps or qualifying. AI opponents with almost humanlike behaviour, physically correct damage modelling, up to 40,000 spectators in 3D, bloom effects, smoke and force feedback create an amazingly intense feeling of being right smack in the middle. Need for Speed feels like bobbycar racing in comparison. -

100 hours of gameplay without being bored for a second. The developers managed to replace routine with variety and long lasting motivation. Despite all the complexity, Anno 1404 never feels like work, but like one of the best games. -

A must-have for every games looking for a clever, funny and original challenge. Portal 2 offers lots of surprises and twists and has been tuned just right to be challenging, but not frustrating. The level design is fair and keeps the motivation high until the end.- Posted Apr 19, 2011

No character classes, no terrorists, no Second World-War, no AK-47 and no rewards. Do we want to play that? Oh yes! Once you launch the game and join a match, you simply can't stop playing. -

Empire: Total War still has some teething problems, but the latest installment of the Total War series is its best one nonetheless. The game takes place in the 18th century with eleven playable countries. As usual, you govern you country and move your armies on the strategy map, while battles are fought in real-time, including sea battles. If you like strategy games, you need to play Empire: Total War. -

Street Fighter 4 turns out to be as good as we hoped. If you've never played a Street Fighter game or even one of the other games of the genre, this is your chance to do so. Countless modes and characters promise fun for several months. Similar games will have a hard time trying to be any better. -

StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty is as good as expected, but you'll need to be patient with it. The game takes some time to get going and behind all the upgraded technologies it's still the same StarCraft we've been knowing for 12 years. It's the best real-time strategy game of the last years and while not perfect, StarCraft 2 is a real masterpiece of PC gaming and even better as a multi-player game. -

My conclusion after eleven hours: Bioshock Infinite is one of the best games I've ever been able to experience. My conclusion after twelve hours: What the hell? Whoever calls the finale "unusual" could denote the Atlantic Ocean as a "wet". Infinite makes me simultaneously gobsmacked, amazed and very pleased - and even after two weeks, I cannot tell you exactly which emotion prevails.Posted Mar 25, 2013 -

Wrath of the Lich King doesn’t offer much for new players, it’s made for experienced players. It increases the scale of the game, adds a few new bits and improves the game while still using the same well known and polished game mechanics. This may sound boring, but it’s absolutely not. -

Critic Score 89
This game is a very intense experience, no doubt at all. It mixes fast action with slow passages and perfectly done scripts. But it could have been much better had someone with talent written the story. It’s full of logical errors and gaps the size of the Grand Canyon… and the massacre on the airport only serves to show the missing tactfulness of the developer. But it’s a brilliant game, nonetheless. -

Darksiders 2 is larger, more varied and more motivating than the first game, and all game elements - be it story, battle, puzzle or skill pad - engage almost perfectly. I would have preferred a slightly more modern technology backbone and more fine-tuned mouse and keyboard controls. But these are small things that I forgive in such a captivating game as this.- Posted Aug 14, 2012

Telling the story of Psycho, who appeared in Crysis, too, the game feels a bit like playing deleted scenes from the first game. But lots of things are improved, there are more scripts, even better graphics and the cut-scenes are better, too. If you like fast action and couldn't care less about the story then Crysis Warhead is for you. If you haven't played Crysis and don't know what's going on, you may feel a bit lost, though. -

This is the first great game of 2010. It’s a worthy successor to the first game and a fast paced science fiction drama. Maybe no one except Bioware really knows how to tell stories and create believeable characters. It’s more than just a role playing game and also technically advanced. -

That’s how a sequel should be done. There’s a better story and a much more charming hero. Even the few flaws of the game can’t hurt the great overall impression. -

On the one hand, this could have been a less expensive DLC for Left 4 Dead, just like it was done for Team Fortress 2. On the other hand, we don’t really care, once we’ve chocked someone to death as a Smoker or hit someone with our fist as a Charger. That’s only possible in Left 4 Dead 2. -
-

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway offers the best gameplay and narrative of all three parts of the series. It's a thrilling shooter, tells a haunting story that shouldn't leave anyone untouched and the cut scenes are fantastic. The AI has a few bugs, but most of the time the other soldiers act convincingly intelligent. The best "Brothers in Arms" so far. -

It's a playable zombie movie. Would you like to hunt down the infected or rather rip human flesh to shreds? What may look like a simple shooter turns out to be very challenging, scary and a lot of fun. The game may be short, but with great replay value and different ways to play like versus mode or co-op mode. -

Playing cards is just something for the elderly? Not Battleforge. The game combines card collecting with fast real-time strategy. After the good tutorial you have to digest a lot of information. Just imagine starting a strategy game with the last mission. But it's worth hanging on, there are a lot of possibilities. The game even looks good. -

Three Brothers, one woman, one destiny: the tragic story of the McCalls in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is one of the best ever told in an action game. If you're looking for a diverse (albeit linear) shooter with a great story, duels and chases, this is the game for you. -

What a great obituary for Colin McRae. If you ever need to show someone how today’s game can look like, get Dirt 2. It’s a joy for the eyes and it’s a great racing game, full of action, with great presentation and easy to get into. A few more tracks would have been nice, though. But playing over network alone is worth buying the game. -

Piranha Bytes stayed true to old virtues and delivered the role-playing game one would expect: very old-fashioned, very German and very good. But this game requires you to be very active, to explore a lot. If you need to taken by the hand by a good story, then Risen is not for you. The game isn't fun because of the story, but despite it. -

FIFA Manager 10 brings a new visuals with a powerful 3D engine for the matches. We can be a football player, a coach or the president offering many options perfect for the soccer fans.
