Grand Theft Auto IV means the matureness for Rockstar, abandoning -though not completely- all its insane humor and arcade action, this chapter of Niko Bellic captures the essence of the american society with black humor, great narrative and the characteristic 'sandbox' gameplay that the franchise has featured all this years. For the PC version all stays the same: only the great technical optimization, the original video-editor and the 32 players online modes are present as news. But, when you leave a masterpiece exactly the same, its a right move.

Super Mario Galaxy was considered one of the best platform games ever and we couldn't expect the same for its sequel. However, what Super Mario Galaxy 2 has achieved is amazing: every level contains a different and really original quest. You will play a totally new game inspired by the first game, but without copying it at all. In addition to this, Nintendo has also fixed most of the minor failures of its predecessor, including the low difficulty level.

Killzone 2 rises from the ashes of the E3 2005 trailer to prove itself as even better; the most outstanding, immersive and technologically advanced first person shooter available for any console on the market. The dark and grim world created by Guerrilla hosts a crude conflict on Helghast soil, divided in 10 acts packed with a variety of situations portrayed with an epic tone. With a polished enemy AI, a huge multiplayer, a well balanced and powerful arsenal, 7.1 sound, great voice acting among some other strong points, few complaints can be made; only the lack of coop and some roughness in the allied AI. Dragon Quest VIII was one of the best JRPGs, now is available for Nintendo 3DS. More fresh and agile, with better exploration mechanics and tons of new and great content. Characters, bosses, Quest Photo Mode... It's the best version of the best Dragon Quest game.

NBA 2k17 is more polished and solid than the last entries. They've made good gameplay changes, except in terms of steal mechanics. It's full of online and offline content, stunning visuals and it's deeper than you want.

A good example to show there are not too-old formulas, just wrong approaches to reignite them. Taking the base of D&D Arcade and introducing plenty of RPG and Hack'n Slash elements, Vanillaware has made its finest game.

Tropical Freeze is a great challenging plattform game. More difficult than its predecessor, better HD visuals and great gameplay. This game is not for all kinds of gamers, but if you're a core gamer, it's for you.

Virtual & timeless beauty. That's what Clover Studios managed to bring the world six years ago. Okami not only has aged well in its core mechanics, it continues to be the masterpiece it was, and proof that a game can touch us like the music or the movies, directly to our hearts and souls. Amaterasu's epic journey is a must-have in this generation of games that look so cloned each other, that makes even more unique this unique tale of freedom, love and justice that will never look so better than now in High Definition.

Alan Wake is finally here, and it's as good as we expected. Rich environments, great story, superb gameplay, many areas to explore, interesting characters... A great game that is not the ambitious project Remedy wanted it to be, but it's glorious anyway.

Salt and Sanctuary is the perfect companion for the Souls series, adapting the core of that games into a 2D action-platformer that is also challenging and rewarding. It's long, clever and maybe the best metroidvania-style game since Guacamelee. A must have.
