A very pretty and smooth beat 'em up with quite comprehensive character customisation options. The single player game modes are quite good, but what's with the lack of survival? [Feb 2012]

New key features such as first touch, attacking intelligence and improved player impact engine are the cornerstones of FIFA 13. Finally, after years of waiting, the ball is really round and there is a sense of unpredictability on the field. That makes an enjoyable footy game. [Nov 2012]

The second game from Big Huge Game designer Brian Reynolds takes careful steps to renew real-time strategy gaming, but does not dare step far enough. The game is beautiful and has lots of great ideas, but lacks in feeling, mostly due to bad sound effects. [June 2006]

The newest episode in the Fire Emblem series is very addictive and well made. The tactical combat works as well as ever even though the interface could be a bit smoother. Otherwise the combat is good, different units are well-balanced and it really matters where you move your troops. Even though the story is overly melodramatic and full of cliches I found it entertaining. [Apr 2008]

A linear experience gameplay-wise. You make choices, which affect the story, but you have go where the director tells you to. A very pretty, intense, interesting and at times, scary experience nonetheless. [Sept 2015]

Her Story is a game about old computer full of archived videos, secrets and disorder. It is a crime story but as much a romantic dip into the FMV delicacy. [Sept 2015]

Doesn’t have an instant appeal to it, but after a while Borderlands can get seriously addictive. It’s really quite impressive when you realize, that you've put 40 hours into a single player fps game! Still, the game could offer a bit more depth with the character builds. One active skill per character is really not enough. The laggy co-op in Xbox Live is a sore disappointment. [Nov 2010]

Episode 3 doesn't quite reach the high points of the previous episode, but it still manages to deliver some really memorable moments. The decisions are brutal and there are some really unexpected "that didn't just happen!" scenes along the way. Also props for Telltale on creating the most believable child character ever, Clementine. [Oct 2012]

Brings the evolution of the Warioware microgame series to its logical conclusion. The tools for creating microgames are surprisingly versatile but still easy enough to use. [May 2010]

Stays true to its roots. The new Wii control system works wonderfully, but there is nothing significantly new and some of the tranquillity of the past games has been lost. It is still a good game and a definitive must-have for Wii owners. [Oct 2007]

Great fun. Sure, the storyline is not particularly original and many of the characters are somewhat one-dimensional, but the fast-paced battles, entertaining narrative and the fascinating gameworld keep the player captivated. [Oct 2007]

Batman: Arkham Knight presents a technically proficient and overall satisfying ending to the Arkham series, but suffers from overuse of the novelty item Batmobile and extremely repetitive tank battles. [Aug 2015]

An entertaining and highly atmospheric, although at times extremely challenging, RPG. The interesting storyline and deep gameplay make it one of the best RPG titles on PS2 this year. [Sept. 05]

Shows that the GTA concept is not suited only for the world of crime. School world has been sadly neglected in games and because of that Canis Canem Edit feels fresh. The Rockstar sense of humour and fun is all here. [Dec 2006]

ALTeR is a tactical combat game with an interesting mixture of turn-based and RTS elements. It's a kind of cleverly modernized Battleship game. The story is boring, though. [March 2015]

Alien Isolation can be frustratingly difficult at times, but nevertheless it’s easily the best game in the Alien franchise since the original Aliens vs Predator. The fact that the game mimics perfectly the 1970s look and sci fi stylings of Ridley Scott’s Alien film makes the experience even more endearing. By featuring absurd number of “surprise” twists, Alien Isolation’s final act could’ve used some trimming. [Nov 2014]

Stays true to the spirit of the old Heroes of Might & Magic games. There are some gameplay innovations, most of which are good, but basically it feels very familiar. Whether this is good or bad depends on the player, but overall Heroes VI is a fine specimen of an almost extinct genre. [Nov 2011]

A well-written, inventive and laugh-out-loud funny platformer with great puzzles. Unfortunately, the quirky game has not been polished to perfection, which can be seen in the lack of details, the faltering visual style and some dragging sections. [Sept 2007]

Starbase Orion is a close-to-perfect rendition of the classic Master of Orion. For an old MOO fan it's easy to fall in love with the appealing visuals and excellent touch UI. There are some failures though, namely the lack of diplomacy, tactical combat and challenge from the AI races. [Nov 2011]

A great hockey game like its predecessors, but somehow it fails to impress. Perhaps it is the post-lockout depression, or perhaps the current console generation has given everything, hockey-wise, it has to give. [Jan 2006]
