Mass Effect 2 gives you an opportunity to play a role, but I'd be hesitant to call it a role-playing game. So what is it exactly? A really robust action-adventure? Can't tell for sure, but once you get past the fact that you're not playing a RPG you really can't help but to enjoy what game has to offer. Mass Effect 2 is truly a genre-defying masterpiece. The best party game ever. It takes the mechanics from Guitar Hero and takes it to the next level. There is just something magical in the feeling when everybody is playing well and the crowd starts to sing along. The only downside is the questionable durability of the instruments, especially the bass pedal breaks up quite easily. [Mar 2008]

Forza Motorsport 3 takes a good game (Forza 2) and makes it even better. There is simply tons of stuff to do, incredible amount of cars to drive and new things to try out. The cars handle very realistically and driving is always fun, even with slower vehicles. The makers really love cars, and the passions shows in every aspect of the game. Driving games don't get much better than this. [Nov 2010]

This little game is by far the most touching story ever told in game industry. Although the game mechanics are very simple, the story is truly something, that bigger players of the business should take a look at. This game brought tears to my eyes. It's truly magical. [Feb 2012]

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is as perfect as sequels come. It takes everything that was good with the original title and polishes it to a mirror sheen perfection. Nevermind a few enemy AI annoyances, World in Flames is undoubtedly one of greatest modern sandbox-shooters. [Sept 2008]

Recreates the black pits of Moria faithfully and is arguably the prettiest rendition of an underground environment ever seen in a video game. A highly recommended expansion for one of the best MMORPG's on the market. [Jan 2009]

Dawn of War's game mechanics should be the role model for the whole stagnant RTS genre. Boosted with Winter Assault, Dawn of War is pretty much the best action-RTS ever. Tyranids next, please. [Nov 2005]

Bioshock Infinite is in many ways far superior to the original Bioshock. Still, it shares many of its predecessors weaknesses. The gunplay feels so-so and the different role-playing game ideas are only toyed with, and not fully committed to. The storyline, the environments and the interaction between Booker and Elizabeth more than make up for it, though. [Apr 2013]

Might as well be called "Das Boot - the game". Not only does it simulate the hardware realistically, the atmosphere is so thick you can almost slice it. This is exactly how simulators should be made to attract the casual crowd as well as the hardcore sim nuts. [May 05]
