For a game with such a new perspective and new approach to the MySims franchise, the ideas it incorporates are used so much that they become old after the first few hours of play, which is disappointing and means that this never fully achieves its full potential.

At first glance, Etherlords II looks pretty much like an RPG title, but take a few moments to play and you’ll soon discover an absorbing turn based strategy game similar to "Magic: The Gathering."

There are some things I loved about the game and equally the same amount of things I found irritating. It’s hard to recommend to fans of third person shooters in general. But, fans of the movies and story driven games will definitely find the game more appealing.

The game modes are nice and varied and the graphical style is great, however the actual tennis games tend to descend into uninspiring baseline games, especially with the computer.

No game, however has managed to bond together two completely different games into one storyline and actually make it work. Second Sight is an exception.

MAG may not be the most original shooter to ever grace the online multiplayer scene, but it is very playable providing gamers with massive and intense online matches.

Sports Champions may not be the most innovative game, to demonstrate the abilities of PlayStation Move, but what it does do is show how incredibly well Move can work.

It’s bold and brash, and for as long as your interest holds, pretty good fun too.

Despite its problems it does generally provide a fun experience and fans of the first game will love the new ways of spreading chaos.

If you own either the Xbox 360 or Ps3 and are a keen football fan then the Wii version isn’t the right choice for you. However, if you’re more of a casual gamer, which most Wii owners tend to be then FIFA 10 on the Wii may just be what you’re looking for allowing for instantly accessible games that most will be able to simply play from the off.

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, may not offer the most compelling single player racing experience but does feature a good level of variety.

As it is, we have a solid and very playable game which will no doubt entertain genre fans, but never dares to do much more than parrot good ideas that came before in a slightly grosser way. It’s hard to dislike, but for the same reasons hard to love, too.

This is thoroughly deserving of a place in your DS slot and you’ll probably still be playing this when they actually invent warp drive engines!

The football side of things is fairly solid, but sadly the game includes too many duties that simply aren’t part of being the manager of a football club. Then there’s the personal life aspect to deal with and coupled together they really stop the title competing with rival games. Often leaving you overwhelmed and spoiling the playing experience on offer, which is a shame as it will probably drive football mad gamers else where.

So, what is it really like to be an evil genius? Well you can have a fantastic lair, hordes of loyal workers and tons of money but to be honest, it can be boring at times, you see, the truly evil one never gets to do any of the dirty work, they just sit and watch; and what makes it worse is workers that don’t seem to have much between their ears making the ‘watching’ a frustrating task.

The games only real faults lie in the ground missions, while they could have easily been solved with a little time from the developer and will probably annoy casual gamers they shouldn’t be enough to spoil the game for real Star Wars fans who should get plenty of enjoyment out of the games missions and bonus features.

The good levels are very good though and if you can stomach the others this one is well worth a flutter.

Trouble is, most of the minigames aren’t entertaining on an individual basis; the enjoyment resides in not knowing what is coming next. While it lasts.

After enjoying the original game I had high hopes for Mafia 2, but despite putting the bad things about the original right they seem to have taken everything that was good about it and trashed it.

It does a lot to build on the tactics focused gameplay found in the original game with improvements in the enemy AI, this bundled with the difficulty and size of the missions should provide plenty of intense strategy action despite the complete absence of a multiplayer mode.

Shadow of Rome unfortunately doesn’t quite manage to pull it off with an excellent fighting engine for Agrippa but poorly designed stealth missions for Octavianus which you cant help but wonder why they tried to implement it in the first place.

This is a highly recommended, high-octane, action-paced sports game that will definitely satisfy basketball fans but also sports fans in general.

Charming, immersive and intuitive. Oh yes.

The Sims 3: Ambitions adds just a little more depth to gameplay and fans should find enough here to keep them playing until the next expansion pack comes out.

It's simple, command system, intricate puzzels and solid combat make it an intriguing offering the only area in which it falters is the boss battles which simple don't provide a big enough challenge, despite their size.

What makes this game a winner for me is the fact that it combines two of my favourite genres brilliantly and manages to achieve the best of both.

Magicka may have its problems such as certain areas being overlooked, but it does undoubtedly provide an enjoyable experience. Mainly due to its interesting spell system, just proving that not all good games are hyped up months before they arrive.

Clearly aimed at youngsters and families Kinectimals isn't going to appeal to the masses. But kids will most definitely love the on-screen pets and with the mini-games and amount of variety, Kinectimals has something for everyone.

Whilst fans of previous series entries will doubtless drag plenty of enjoyment from having such a revered title in portable form, players less influenced by rose tinted memories of GT’s past may find it harder to forgive the limitations of the game structure and the similarly limited reasons to progress.

The physical separation of human opponents makes every multiplayer contest a little less worthwhile, whilst the one-player game’s mission to collect track parts seems pointless if you then cannot share the resulting new tracks easily with close friends.

The character development system seems a little basic and unfinished and the amount of bugs in the game really is unacceptable.

Obviously not every game on this disk is going to score a winner with every player and some Sonic games are renowned for being bad but nobody can grumble about what is on offer here. A must for any serious gamer.

A solid game set in a beautifully created world brimming with life and atmosphere. Starting off pretty easy to break you in gently the game soon starts to challenge even the most experienced players and the varied quests and side min-games are enough to keep you interested until the very end.

While the game is by no means the easiest racing title around it’s fair to say it’s a no nonsense racing simulation that offers a hardcore racing experience for hardcore racing fans.

But by no means is it a bad game, but on the other hand it’s not a particularly good game and as such falls into the doldrums or mediocrity.

One of the better adventure games produced in recent years, and thoroughly deserves to rub shoulders with the likes of "Myst." It’s just a shame it didn’t come up with the idea first.

Crackdown 2 may have a familiar feel to it but it definitely offers a more refined playing experience over the original.

The game is challenging enough without been overly difficult and thanks to the random re-generation of the castle and its contents predictability is kept to a minimum.

Does what it intends to do and that is to provide players, specifically younger players with an addictive but classic style platformer immersed in gorgeous graphics and a mix of unique features.

Despite my complaints Desert Rats vs. Afrika Korps puts in a good performance and is worth a look, especially if you like strategy games that require you to think fast and react quickly to events on the battlefield.

Adults or experienced gamers however might find the game a little repetitive and easy concluding that if you belong to the right audience, you’ll love Shrek 2.

Everything here is too frantic, too rushed. You’re given a split second to make a decision that should take a multiple of three or four more time therefore you rush, you make mistakes unnecessarily and then you get mad. Avoid.

The key criticism to level at Tiger on the PSP is that EA have tried too hard to squeeze the full home experience into a UMD, evidently a step too far for the poor little handheld.

This is a loving and professional revision of a solid game, and as such is well worth the points, especially for those with fond memories of gaming in the 90’s.

This is undoubtedly Quake as it was in its heyday, and it's as playable as it always was. If a few more of you would just start playing it, we might all be able to enjoy it a bit more.

As a single player experience Madballs isn’t a terribly exciting offering, serving a pretty much run of the mill gaming experience we’ve all seen before. However, it’s multiplayer component more then makes up for its shortcomings providing one of the most fun and frantic playing experiences I’ve encountered lately.

Not perfect but worth a look for anyone who misses SSX.

With a clever plot and some impressive visuals the game could be appealing and addictive though tiresome at times. Unfortunately, if you have seen the film and you already know exactly how the plot unfolds and you have already seen those most surprising, awesome scenes, this game has little thrills.

While The Saga of Ryzom is probably more simplistic then most MMORPG's its a lot more approachable to those new to the genre, however this is likely to deter those looking for something to challenge them.

It doesn’t really excel in any one area or instantly grab your attention.

The unforgiving nature of the game and the constant restarts of certain areas are bad enough but add the constant unskippable cutscenes that you are forced to watch in full every time you die just tips it over the edge for me.

An interesting idea that fails spectacularly. Not only does the central concept reduce each match to an almost painful war of attrition, but Team 17 seem to have concentrated so heavily on making its new gimmick work correctly that the rest of the game has fallen by the wayside.

The game tries to master many different aspects of the genre but the number of bugs lets it down badly.

This is easily the worst IO Interactive game to date- and if they foul up the next Hitman I am going to cry.

On the audio side the game has done an excellent job of bringing the individual personalities of the characters from the movie into the game with good voice acting and dialogue.

Dodgy controls, annoying cameras and repetitive gameplay (think obsessive scanning!) makes the game get tiresome very quickly.

Blood Stone is definitely not one of 007's best missions.

MySims SkyHeroes, offers an accessible take on the air combat genre for the younger gamer. However, its repetitive mission play and confusing progression system makes Sky Heroes a difficult game to stick with, even for its intended audience.

Unfortunately the strict timing required can lead to a lot of frustration and as a result the game can quickly start to feel repetitive.

Whilst this sequel may improve some of the technical aspects of The Force Unleashed, the all important narrative is non-existent.

Transformers – Revenge of the Fallen isn’t the greatest action game to ever grace the current generation of consoles and as such will only appeal to fans who will love getting to play as some of the favourite characters from the movies.

Avatar – The Game seems to have all the building blocks in place to provide gamers with a decent movie licence for once, and the first few minutes of play may trick you into thinking that’s exactly what you’ve got. Sadly though some blatantly obvious design flaws shine through and spoil what’s on offer in the game.

Up against such revered and critically acclaimed competition, Risen cannot help but come across as a shabby, underdeveloped pretender with none of the polish or insight shown by much older games.

Replay value in Conflict: Vietnam is pretty much non existent, largely due to the game not been Live enabled.

The Shoot lacks any really depth and the multiplayer element hasn't been implemented as well as it could have been and as a result despite not being a bad shooter overall the game quickly starts to feel repetitive.

Magna Cum Laude is a bore to play, repetitive mini-games, constant loading screens in-between locations and no challenge whatsoever makes this experience a very tiresome one indeed.

I’d like to see developers scrap these constant installments completely and remake a one off Harry Potter game. Maybe one that tells the whole story, obviously in a very watered down fashion. One good game is better than seven clones of the same mediocre game.

Dark Void is probably going to go down as one of the most disappointing titles of the year, after all of the expectation and hype. With a bit more time spent polishing and developing key elements and its story this could have become a “classic” as the potential is their for all to see, however in its current form it will sadly slip into the void of mediocrity that has claimed so many third person shooter in the past.

Guitar Hero Van Halen may not feature the greatest selection of tracks that will appeal to general fans of the franchise. However, it does provide those looking for a more interesting challenge, giving you access to one of the most intense collections of songs to grace a Guitar Hero game for sometime, definitely one just for hardcore Guitar Hero’s.

So the popular Internet game has failed to make a smooth transition to Nintendo’s handheld, providing a frustrating experience with the only real highlight being its level creation mode.

The heart of a point and click adventure is its puzzles and Black Mirror does this badly forcing players to go backwards and forwards in seemingly pointless treks and it all adds up to a feeling that you are simply playing a role in a very boring movie, you don’t control your character, just guide him through the motions.

Worms: Battle Islands brings the classic Worms experience to the Nintendo platform and introduces a range of features that while not initially useful do enhance the playing experience when played with friends. What makes the deal better, is that it is available at a budget price.

It has its gimmick transformers style morphing and some of the fighting can be quite addictive but there is nothing here that separates it from any other FPS out there, pretty standard stuff with a big licence name.

The game shows a chronic lack of progression, which eventually leads you to question whether or not the admittedly imaginative concept should really have been made into a videogame at all.

Start the Party as a single player experience is seriously lacking, but like most casual games the experience improves when played with friends.

Whilst Kinect Joyride does offer some fun moments, the fact you never really feel in control this is' very short lived…probably just like the game will be in your collection.

The game offers absolutely nothing new and plays like something that’s been dragged up from the 90’s.

The combination of a dull story, repetitive gameplay, drab environments and no innovation to speak of is a recipe for disaster in my opinion.
