Finding original humor in this tired old horse of a format may not only be difficult, but close to impossible.

The show is clever in parts, but it's just not that funny.
  3. Sadly, these factors [Kevin Nealon, Catherine O'Hara and puppet animation] only amplify my disappointment in what, on the basis of one episode and a handful of clips, looks to be a weak and wheezy show.

I found it on iTunes and was hooked almost immediately. What is an okay premise -- the show is basically "The Simpsons take to the road" -- is elevated by beautiful animation, imaginative story telling, and the great vocal talents of Kevin Nealon and Catherine O'Hara. My favorite episode guest starred Chrissie Hynde as part of an over the hill "bangles" band, and told a nice story about dreams versus priorities, and how wives are expected to subjugate themselves for their husbands. Set the Tivo and check it out. I have no idea when it's on. Full Review »
