Reviewed the pilot earlier and gave it an 8... moving forward with that the show has only improved IMO. The stories are well thought out, there is no consistency to expect with how things turn out (which keeps you on your feet). One episode the detectives will take up 10 mins, the prosecution 30 minutes. The next episode the prosecution might barely get a scene in because of how cut andReviewed the pilot earlier and gave it an 8... moving forward with that the show has only improved IMO. The stories are well thought out, there is no consistency to expect with how things turn out (which keeps you on your feet). One episode the detectives will take up 10 mins, the prosecution 30 minutes. The next episode the prosecution might barely get a scene in because of how cut and dry the detectives have made the case. Sometimes it bounces back and forth. Sometimes one side fails and the other doesn't. Sometimes both fail. This variation in how the detectives/prosecutors are involved with each case really helps keep the show fresh. Couple that with well thought out cases to begin with and you get an enjoyable crime show, albeit nothing out of the ordinary. The acting is very Law and Order generic... I don't mean that in a bad way, it just doesn't present anything fresh. Overall I simply don't see why any avid L&O fan couldn't enjoy this show. Expand

Law & Order SVU is an amazing television show which contains a brilliant cast. The plot schemes always leaves viewers wondering what's going to happen next, and keeps you glued in at all times. Law & Order SVU will wholeheartedly go down in history as one of the best television shows to ever exist.

LOLA for its part shows signs of getting that old Law & Order moxie back.

Skeet Ulrich and Corey Stoll are well-paired as detectives, and Alfred Molina, looking like an irascible owl, adds some harrumping power as deputy DA. [18 Sep 2010, p.40]

The prosecutors on this new show--led by actor Peter Coyote, who hauls loads of Adam Schiff gravel in his voice--are given to putting whole systems on trial, metaphorically and otherwise....Though [Detectives] Rex and T.J. do, in fact, dig for clues, it somehow feels that they're just watching them erupt.
