    Now in its second season, Portlandia has matured into a comedic concoction that is consistently pleasing.

    The show seems markedly improved from its earlier efforts and somehow more confident in its writing and sense of nuance. It's also funnier.

    The ratio of hit-to-miss is much better in season two, however, as musician-comedians Armisen and Brownstein have more clearly found their groove.

    In lieu of this transcendent attention to detail, however, there's still Brownstein and Armisen's magnetic and mysterious central relationship.

    sure it's funny to you if you are from portland. or any city with hipsters. this is probably the most culturally-aware (more NPR than Jersey Shore) sketch show that's on right now. really witty and sometimes silly. these are our times. might be a bit of a stretch for audiences in the "heartland."
