Shake It Up doesn't shake up the kid-com formula one bit, but it's something more than the usual shiny-sparkly cuteness. [20 Dec 2010, p.44]

Of all the mindless "teenager" shows I've seen, I can usually find either a redeeming message for kids, or at least some clever humor. With this show, I'm at a loss. The dancing is bad, the acting is bad, the WRITING is horrible and the enormous doses of canned laughter are almost insulting. I can't decide which girl is more annoying. Perhaps the message Disney is trying to send here is that even kids with no talent and no personality and no depth can have a television career. I hope they realize how bad this show is. If Perry the Platypus got his own show, it would be more interesting than this one. Full Review »
