I'm incredibly mixed on this show. Why? The difference between each dub. The Japanese Dub is pretty good. The jokes hit most of the time, the action is in your face, and if I wanted to, I would watch it again. The English Dub is BAD. The voice acting is mixed, the jokes are dumber and there are so much unnecessary censoring. The Japanese Dub is an 8 while the English Dub is a 5.
The start o' season 1 didn't make sense to me at least from other stuff I've seen before in the series with Sonic an' the others bein' teleported to Earth. I don't know why the series didn't take place on Mobius (Sonic's world), but it's kinda the start of the series' downfall for me. Things would've been way more interesting if Chris wasn't there 'cause he really isn't all that important. He's just a projection fantasy for kids. Some stuff from Sonic Adventure is here too.
Part o' season 2 remakes Adventure 2's plot. Like I said, it's weird that this happens on Earth instead o' Sonic's world, but OK. Then there was other parts like the Emerl arc which was pretty sad in the end. They eventually have to hurry an' go home 'cause of some planetary binding of somethin' like that which has bad consequences.
Season 3, which was my favorite, felt like somethin' reminiscent of the Archie Comics Sonic series which was interesting. A flower girl named Cosmo lands on Mobius to get help from Sonic an' friends which has them goin' into space. However, after leavin' their planet, it somewhat feels like an extended version of the Shadow Dragon arc in Dragon Ball GT which is how I would describe Sonic X as a whole. Apparently, Chris was such an "important character" that they had to bring 'im back an' not only that, but turn 'im back into a kid 'cause that's what everyone needed.
The Japanese dub was way better 'cause there's no **** 4Kids censoring an' I'd actually like to see more of it in the Sonic series. I think the Sonic comics, at least the IDW ones at this point, should be adapted into an anime series as I think that's where their best bet would be.
