A clear improvement from season 1. This season we got new characters, better character development and the first clear hints that the Republic is not all unicorns and rainbows atop of good stories and action. Many episodes are connected to form lager stories. Some new good characters are for example Rush Clovis an interesting senator, Pre Vizsla who I wont spoil, Satine the female leader of Mandalore, Padawan Bariss Offee (Her master is Ludminara Unduli from season 1) who is an interesting comparison to Ahsoka. Then there is Jocasta Nu who is a Jedi librarian and probably the memory of the order. Don't underestimate her as for the Emperor she is the most dangerous Jedi in the order as knowledge is also power in the Star Wars galaxy (Yes even more dangerous than Yoda even if she is no fighter). Established characters like Mace Windu, Kit Fisto and the Senators get more screentime and better stories. Of cause there are some familiar faces that will return. The mayor improvement for me is that there are less weaker episodes. There is more worldbuilding and struggles that are shown. As in any good show the director or better said whole team has more experience and know how to handle the characters better so an improvement is natural. Animation wise the show cemented their style and looking back there are some improvements over season 1 (Also common in many animated shows). Lets continue with my recommendations: My favorites are: “Holocron Heist”, “Cargo of Doom” and “Children of the Force”. These 3 are connected and have an interesting set up and story. Cad Bane becomes a fan favorite with these. “Landing at Point Rain”, “Weapons factory” and Weapons factory are also connected. These have immersive battles, a new menace and character development including insights for many characters. “Legacy of Terror” and “Brain Invaders” deals with a new fearsome menace and the later give Bariss and Ahsoka some development and time to shine. “The Desserter” recognizes the dark sides of the clone army. I think they enslaved them and used them as cannon fodder but slavery is sadly common in the Star Wars galaxy and the guardians of freedom the Jedi are ignoring it. “Lightsaber Lost” is a spoiler itself. I like master Tera Sinube who is a great detective. He is a master of deduction and foiling others with his calm and seemingly harmless presence. “The Mandalore Plot”, “Voyage of Temptation” and “Duchess of Mandalore” are a connected story and introduce Mandalore and the Mandalorian into the story. Duchess Satine and her peaceful philosophy are a contrast opposition to Mandalorian culture and tradition. A lot to debate or discuss. Also good pacing story and ideas. Highlights of the whole show. Honorable mention for “Bounty Hunters” for the Akira Kurosawa tribute but the episode is not that good. With “The Zillo Beast” and “The Zillo beast strikes back” we get Godzilla in Star Wars. Even the name is a tribute. Another highlight of the show for me and the pacing, action and story telling is great. I am sorry for Zillo and hope they continue this arc somewhere. In the final 3 episodes “Death Trap”, “R2 come home” and “Lethal Trackdown” they give us some (young) Boba Fett moments and character development. You can relate to him and feel his struggles. A worthy conclusion to the season. Overall this season made me a fan of the show. The lore / worldbuilding, character development, good story arcs and satisfying conclusions won me over. I give a bonus point for this as there are still a few weaker moments but these are neglectable.
Even better than the last, the bounty hunters are awesome especially Cad Bane and the story about the Zillo Beast is cool!! Very good season with lots of action!
Who would've thought that Season 2 of The Clone Wars could improve over Season 1? The bounty hunters are great additions to the series with Cad Bane being a standout. Perhaps the best part of the season are the Geonosis and Boba Fett episodes. Simply amazing.
Tiene varios puntos interesantes. Nos muestra a Bobba Fett, un monstruo inmune a los láser, desarrollan mas a los clones como personas, a mejorado desde la anterior. 08/10
Star Wars: the Clone Wars is a show that definitely deserves a watch (as it's good) it's second series is better than it's first, developing characters and plots. This series mostly has great episodes, a couple being mediocre and a couple being very good. The highlight of this series is the Geonosian "Saga", it shows off epic, story driven war scenes and develops the character: Ashoka Tano very well. This series grabs the stuff from the first series and makes it better and more exciting; although there are a couple mediocre episodes Star Wars: the Clone Wars season 2 should definitely be viewed by Star Wars fans and people flicking through their channels on the T.V as it's great! So I rate this series... 8.1/10!
This second installment lacks almost only one aspect; improvement.
The war continues. We experience the full events during the massive assault in our beloved galaxy far, far away. We get introduced to new characters, new locations and of course; new plot-lines. One new protagonist is Cad Bane; who’s such a great example **** and menacing villain! The lack of depth and realism to the characters and their awful dialogs are still a very present fact; but the plot can be a bit better from time to time in comparison with season one. Some stories are even a bit nuanced and we experience things from new perspectives. The CGI has also improved, even though there’s still much work to be done till it’s somewhat okay to watch. Just as the previous installment; does many episodes suffer with plot-holes; and this second season is no exception. The Clone Wars is what is sounds like; a war/action show. But it’s still fun too see different sides to what it all means like politics, love, friendships, economy, etc. Anakin’s turn to the dark side is another example **** new angle of the war. We see small aspects and details make him express very dark and dangerous thoughts that one day will make him become the infamous villain we all love and know. But is it a better season? I’’m not that sure; it’s still very flawed but I still enjoy to watch it (somewhat)!
My overall personal rating for each episode is 7.02/10. (- 0.15 since S01).
Personal rating: 6/10
