For such a quick-witted comedy, the eight episode commentaries aren't as sharp as you'd expect, and Carell is entirely absent. But some three hours of deleted scenes--funnier takes of already hilarious sequences, beefed-up stories for the supporting cast--compensate.

This set is another great one from Universal - well deserving of my "pick of the week" for September 4. The commentary tracks are good, the deleted scenes are awesome, and while some of the other material is a hodge-podge of stuff, I'm glad it's on the set.

The engaging, honest commentary is just what a DVD set should provide, and once again The Office extras don't disappoint.

It's clear that the editors have plenty to choose from for each 30-minute episode, judging by the plethora of deleted scenes included in this four-disc set. Other highlights include bloopers (yay!) and Michael and Dwight's rap-inspired "Lazy Scranton" video.

The Office is probably one of best comedies on American television today. Unfortunately the writing quality in the most recent seasons has declined compared to the second and third seasons, but the incredible actors are still holding the show together. You know that the acting is good when you can't tell what's improv and what's written. With Michaels antics, Jim and Pam's love life and Dwight's constant struggle for power, The Office is an easy show to relate to and love. Expand

The Office has to be the best comedy on television today. And it's not just the slapstick comedy that requires a minimal amount of brain cells. It's the kind of comedy that makes you realize that there are actually people on this earth that are so oblivious to how everything works. Expand

For me, this show started going pale around the episode "Beach Day." It's literally like the writers tragically either lost their minds or lost their health, neither would suprise me. Perhaps B.J. completely forgot how to be realistic which, in turn, will add much to humor. From episode S03.E23-S04--, I felt nothing but uncomfort for their attempted punchlines and honestly wanted to ask the writers what the fuc* they are doing. Every new episode I hoped it would return to the plot and humor of earlier episodes but it still hasn't come. The wasted talent, especially from Carell is unacceptable, and it's all due to cheesy plots Expand
