If not top-tier TV terror fare, Under the Dome certainly is solid second-level stuff. And given the state of horror on television these days, that's a bloody good compliment. Even while acknowledging the occasional misstep, give Under the Dome credit for getting a lot of things right.
I'm really enjoying season 2 of Under The Dome. I love the characters, the storylines, and the incredible effects. It is such an original idea in the first place, and season 2 has just gone from strength to strength. Big Jim is a brilliant main character, played to perfection by Dean Norris. The program has me gripped and looking forward to the next episode. I'm even considering buying the book
I thought the series to incredible so far! Lots of suspense mystery and decent acting. The show works like the book does and I'm very excited to see what they do with it and how they make everything work
Under the Dome won’t be confused with good TV--and often last season it was borderline bad TV--but depending on where the writers take it this year, it might be empty-headed, summer fun.
"Under the Dome" is getting more and more bizarre--and I love it. Viewers Beware! Big Jim is apparently being deified by some of the citizens of Chester's Mill. Stephen King's stories generally have a theological undertone: "God vs. Satan" or simply "Good vs. Evil." ("God" and "Good" generally win out.) Watch and listen closely. King often manages to inject a "morality message" before we realize what's happening. This series may not be an all-time great, but don't sell it short.
Unfortunately, the second season of Under the Dome isn't nearly as good as the first. The only good acting I've seen is from Dean Norris, Mike Vogel, and Dwight Yoakam. All the other actors are either bad or sub-par at best. However, the show managed to keep its good special effects and its creepy atmosphere. Overall, the second season of Under the Dome is decent, but it should have been better. 6/10 (decent)
It had it ups and downs but the mystery kept the viewers coming back to see what is this egg, an Alien from space or What? Well I see the vast majority reviews hate this show, well it's better than a lot of other now on TV...reality show, like the voice and living in the jungle like monkeys is a hole lot worse, I mean the necked ones, dating necked that hits a all time low or TV and **** my day the censor would blocked the shows.
Started out with great promise. Big change as characters did turn-arounds in their feelings and directions. Tried to stay with it, but couldn't help realizing it was a waste of time.
I grew up reading Stephen King novels and I think he's a great writer. This adaptation I think doesn't work well. Dean Norris was an initial draw for me, however for me, I lost interest as soon as they started to delve into mini domes and hand prints and the tropic parallel story of the drug manufacturing. Funny how they put Dean into a Breaking Bad style role where he's the 'Gus' of the operation. I decided to watch the first episode of Season 2. Dean Norris nearly hangs himself because he's stuck acting in such an empty construct. Characters are flatter than the first season and they have to explain to us what the dome is thinking when they shouldn't have to. I think it would have worked better if there was more irony between us and all the characters where we know more about what's going on then they do. As it is, we have the handprint people and dead characters telling us what the dome is trying to do. Perhaps they should have filled the dome with water and big fish. At the end finale a big hand opens the top of the dome to pour in fish food. Even Stephen King couldn't save this thing. Avoid! Avert your eyes!
