There's peril in traveling the well-worn path of unrequited love and adulterous wives. But what makes this beginning of "Brian" work is that the characters are nicely drawn archetypes, not stereotypes.
  2. 60
"Brian" is easy, harmless viewing, sliding down the gullet as smoothly and reassuring as a glass of California merlot.
  3. 38
The dialogue ranges from ridiculous to tiresome.
  4. It's not only unimpressive. Parts of it are uncomfortable.

The only problem with this show is that is so squarely focused on the 28-35 age group (IMO - this will be the reason it gets cancelled). Unless you are married/in a serious relationship and in this age group you won't get it. The characters and situations are spot on. Is the open marriage idea ridiculous? Yes. But discussions like that come up in marriages all the time. So do the feelings for the best friend's girlfriend that can't be acted on. It is not a new or novel idea. It's how these characters decide to deal with these difficult decisions that make the show interesting. Do friends occasionally lust after each others girfriends despite the ramifications - Yes. Do some couples think open marraiges can work - Yes. It's not like this show is making all of this stuff up. Expand

Feels like its gone "off-track" - has more plots than anyone can follow now- Marjorie disappears at any moment, just when you're engaged- inconsistent Would love to have original plots back & also more character development- Today 2/19, Adam feels shallow, Brian horny & Dave- lusting Disgusting that they cnnot grow up- HOW CAN YOU CUT OUT MARJORIE??? Nrought her back for ratings??? Good that Ivey & her hubby are part of the group- but feel like the writers pull the rug out from under us once we attach to a character- bringing on very shallow people Expand

This is one of the most boring cliched pilots I've seen. No characters are sympathetic nor likable. None of the actors fit into their roles nor were they very convincing. BORING! Expand
